Does this remind you at all of Tony Farmer? He had played at NU with San Jose State while in the Ameritas Classic. I remember him telling me that's how he ended up in Lincoln. He knew the team and Danny was very familiar with him to offer when he wanted out.

Could we (knock on wood) see history repeating?

So then do we call Voohes mom and dad and say come pick him up.

Then Benny can stick around to be the team manager, since he is going to live with a couple of players he can't really leave them because they signed the lease.

So if we get "a few more" transfer who goes?

Well I guess maybe Ray is close to graduating so he could go some place for his "senior" year.

Then we pull the offer we just gave to Leslee or maybe Rivers could leave because he wasn't very good last year.

I mean when does it end?

We aren't the Yankees and we just try to "buy" a new team each year, it is the NCAA and there are rules... well kind of.

(by the way I'm a huge Yankee fan so that was hard to write.) :)

What if Miles sat Benny and Vooch down after the year and told them they are both welcome to stay but there isn't going to be any playing time for either one of them in the future and they decided to leave on their own.

I wish they had a tongue in cheek smiley face because I would use it.

I would think that by now you would know that I try to bring a different, even possibly funny look at things.

Guess it was a rather poor effort of humor by me.

Most grad transfers want playing time AND a chance to compete. Miles will need to convince any candidates that we can potentially field a winner next year. Not gonna be easy considering we lost two top contributors from a 10th place team. Probably not easy to sell outsiders on the potential of our redshirts.

Rumors are that he could be headed to his hometown NC State. Just the leader contender as of now probably

Yeah, Spoilsport,...but they are in the clubhouse...and we are still out on the course!

The only Josh Davis I've recalled in scarlet & cream seems to have played a little running back and kick-returner for Fearless Frankie.  A chip off the ol' Tough Tony, if you will.

On the topic at hand, a double-double PF would be a spicy ingredient for NU's Big Dance recipe in 2013-14!

He had 19 points and 13 rebounds against us this year...and I remember him...number was 00 and the dude had game.  I would love to have him.

Yeah, he simply destroyed us on the glass, got to the line, and almost won the game for Tulane.  I think we had to alternate Talley and Rivers on him at the end just to slow him down.  Big Time Motor and would be an instant starter.

Same thing with Tom Best.  Though not quite a Tony Farmer, Tom transferred here after playing against us for another team.  Can't recall which.  Too lazy to look it up at Huskers.com.  But he transferred.  After playing against us.  That was the point.

Well we have 7 new guys coming in as of now. 8 counting Josh or Sai. We are going to be much more competitive than last year.

Why would he go back to NC State?  That would be a head scratcher.

I like Dave's analogy to Tony Farmer.  And you remember the year Tony was eligible, right?  Lightning striking twice?

Don't TEASE me, bro.

Well, then, how 'bout we tase you, Normie~!

Agreed 100%. But can Miles convince a potential transfer of that?

I am personally convinced that if we got Josh, there's a great chance we could make the tournament.

I am not sure what Josh is trying to achieve in transferring, but I doubt there is a BCS team that could offer more playing time than Nebraska.

And you can also throw in the arena, facilities, and the chance to make history.

I have to think adding Josh would sell a lot of season tickets for this coming year.

I think we need to keep things in check.

The Big 10 is still vicious....even with Davis....the NCAA is a big jump.   What Davis probably does for us is turn us from a .500/CBI type team to a mid-level NIT type team.

He'd certainly make us better but the NCAA is still a huge jump for a group with a bunch of unknowns.

Totally agree with this.

Fingers crossed on Davis, because I think that Nebraska could make the tourney.  Obviously, not at the level of a Michigan, Indiana, Ohio St, Michigan St, but they have the potential to be a team that has ups and downs over the course of the season, but the ups are enough to get into the tourney maybe like Minnesota this season.

I honestly think that if Nebraska could add Davis and Tummala, they would have enough fire power to get there.  Plus enough guys that have the scoring potential, that it wouldn't be up to the same player every single night.  One player could have a bad shooting night, but another player could pick up the slack that night.

I agree that this would be a huge "get" for the Huskers but did I miss something that said we have a chance to get this guy other than a tweet that said we might go after him?  Does our staff have any connections here, or is it more just wishful thinking and speculation?  Not to be a buzz kill but why us?

There is probably nothing more to it than us seeing Josh Davis first hand and us needing height.

Navin, I don't think it's a buzz kill.  I've been thinking the same thing.

To me it's more like when you buy that powerball ticket...you get to fantasize for a few days what you'd do with all that money.  But yeah, right now there's no real reason to believe we have a legit shot.

Having that said, we HAVE to take a shot at it.  I'd be really disappointed to learn we didn't at least reach out to the kid.

Now, if we get him to visit, then all bets are off...I'll be chugging the Kool-Aid while wearing my rose colored glasses for sure!!

Nebraska was in on Davis, before he committed to Tulane.  Don't quote me on that, that's just what I heard on Sharp and Benning.
