IMO the two best point guards in the country are in the Big Ten. Braden Smith and Bruce Thornton. There are some other good ones out there, but guys like RJ Davis, Tamin Lipsey and Mark Sears are having down years by their standards. Thornton is scary. He's like a mix of old school floor general and modern point guard who can cross you up, stop on a dime and drain a 28 footer. Built like a running back and strong as hell. IQ is off the charts. His efficiency might be more impressive than anyone else in the country considering his usage rate - shooting splits of 52/46/83 and 1.6 turnovers per game.

But Ohio State would be hot garbage without him. When you watch them, everyone else on their team looks poorly coached. I suppose that may be because they are. It's not for a lack of talent (4 and 5 stars galore on that roster). They are long and athletic. They play out of control and foul a whole lot. We're going to have a big home court advantage tomorrow. Need to make our free throws.

Freshman guard Mobley is kind of their Tominaga, but they don't really know how to use him like that. Still, he has legit NBA range and you cannot leave him alone. I'd be ok with making Royal and Stewart try to beat you in the post. Just don't let Thornton and Mobley go off from the perimeter.
