Evidently, most think it was due to his lack of being able to play defense.

If we can hide his defense deficits, (I actually thought he improved in this area over the years), at Nebraska in one of the BEST college conferences in the nation, how can a national team with multiple NBA players on it not figure it out.  You've got a LIGHTS OUT shooter and you leave him on the bench.  I still don't understand.

The part I saw they had an NBA guy casting up threes and he'd barely draw iron, Watanabe. It was inexplicable that Tominaga didn't at least get a decent run when the score deficit started to escalate.

Maybe an injury to his shooting arm or hand?

He's probably fine and they didn't like what they saw on film when they watched the Germany game tape

Is...that Kevin Kugler and Robbie Hummel on the call there?  It sounds like I'm watching a BTN broadcast...

KT got a BS 6 seconds I see.

I guess he might have been better off as a 3x3 Olympic player, what I don't even know is whether Japan's 3x3 made it.... ?

Japan got screwed in that game

The two unsportsmanlike fouls against Rui Hachimura need to be investigated. A light body bump on a guard going through the lane and grabbing Gobert's arm to prevent a layup...both looked like common fouls.

First foul was called with 3:46 left in the 3Q after Japan went up 62-60. Rui scored eight more points in the next four minutes and was ejected early in the 4Q. He hit threes on back-to-back possessions less than 30 seconds apart to start the 4Q and was ejected on the next play. Rui was 10-16 with 24 points before getting ejected. Insane.

Durant had a guy throw his shoulder into him to stop a fast break in Sunday's game, only a common foul despite clearly no play on the ball.

Jack had 3 points and 1 rebound in Australia's 77-71 loss to Greece yesterday. He had the unenviable task of guarding the Greek Freak at times.

McVeigh played a lot vs Serbia (29:30)  and scored 13 but Australia coughed up a 24 point lead and fell in OT 95-90.

McVeigh scored 38 in the tourney. Has any former Husker scored more in the Olympics?

Believe this is the exhaustive list of former men's basketball players in the Olympics

Jack McVeigh - 38 points
Aleks Maric - 17 points
Ade Dagunduro - 3 points
Keisei Tominaga - 2 points

Always nice watching volleyball in the Olympics:

"Jordan Larson's not only one of the best for the United States, all time. She's one of the best in the game, all time."

She's coming off the bench this time, mostly for defense. Her sideline leadership is really impressive, but what's new?
