They have FIVE GUYS averaging double figure points. They shoot 37% from three, which is better than us. They have two national top 50 recruits from the class of '23. And they fail to make the post-season and finish outside the KenPom top 100.

 

And now they're shedding players like a colt in spring.

Maybe it’s the demise of the Pac-12 and Stanford’s agreement with the ACC? Not a super stable position from a conference perspective.

Yeah, that was kind of tongue-in-cheek. Not trying to make fun of a guy who just lost his job but more pointing to the fact you fire a coach in the era of the portal and you can count on turning over your roster.

 

The explanation about conference realignment makes sense too.

The three Stanford kids now top a couple of the portal rankings. So, Stanford is *losing* like currently three of the best portal options available. And my question is how did they finish with a losing record given that talent level? And maybe that explains why they're getting a new coach.

He must have put in the work last year. He noticeably changed his body. Looks leaner and stronger for sure.

Low and Mid-Major programs can’t be happy serving as farm system for the major powers.  The sow the seed in development and playing time and fail to reap the rewards when the player blossoms.
