I think Brice Williams could become a JPJ clone before he's all said & done at NU. He needs to ramp up the intensity and focus, it's a big step up from Charlotte to compete in the B1G night-in and night-out.

James Palmer had a lot of dog in him and had underrated handles. Two things Brice really lacks. He’s got some skill for sure. But has an odd sassy attitude on the court. Often brushes off teammates when they try to communicate with him. It’s more noticeable in person.

Yeah, I kinda think that maybe Brice is just a very quiet, introverted guy.  He doesn't celebrate after made shots like other guys, and he's not a talker either.  Don't see him being the "alpha" that JPJ was.  I don't think that Brice can go get his own shot at the end of the clock, but I certainly trust him taking and hitting an open shot if he has one.

Sometimes it seems to me that Brice doesn’t play within the team concept.  He lacks intensity with his defense and passing and seems to be more Interested in hunting his own shots.  The ball has a tendency to stick when it gets in his hands.  He has a lot of tools to like but I am not sure you can teach someone to be a fierce competitor.

Thank goodness for KT.  He was nails at the end.  It is frustrating that we go minutes where we don’t run anything for him…heck, he doesn’t even touch the ball during stretches on offense.  To me you want him at least touching it to give the defense something to think about since he is our most dangerous player.

This is a very important point.  Honestly, I’m disappointed when we have a possess where he is in and doesn’t touch it.  When he has the ball in his hands… 2-3 sets of eyes are on him.  He’s a pretty decent passer too, and has found a wide open shooter or guy inside in situations where he was doubled.

How NW balks at a switch when it comes to him, I have no idea but that shot at the end was huge!

KT has ice water running through his veins. The minute that shot went up I knew it was in.

Shot doesn't happen with a great assist from RM as he is simultaneously shielding off the defender.

Speaking of KT this game along with Rutgers game are good ones to re-watch for how much he is grabbed. HCFH needs to make this a point of emphasis with the refs pre-game.

I'm also getting really sick of watching us get mugged inside the paint constantly, with  no calls, while us getting touch calls the other way on both sides of the ball. Rutgers has been the worst by far.

I'd say 50% of our turnovers are because of lazy or risky passes. This was not an issue early in the season. Need to get that cleaned up.

Winning a game like this w/o JG shows what this team is made of. Monster games by multiple players, but specifically JA and RM.

JA with a very quiet 7-8 from the FT line along ER going 4-4.

SH with a quiet shooting day but contributed with 6 rebs and 3 assists.

Maybe it's the booze but that game is easily top 5 worst reffed game I've seen vs Huskers. Lawrence got mugged on a fast break, Igor #34 must weigh less than a feather the way he could float with barely being touched and so sick and tired of Keisei getting grabbed and held.

And I feel like Fred is, for the most part, hardly getting after the refs. I know he got upset yesterday, but he  or an assistant (if he doesn’t want to get worked up because of his heart) need to get after the refs every game for people grabbing and pulling on KT. You can’t let other teams get away with that game after game.

I watched Howard and Ernie working an official for the entirety of a time out.  Howard was very animated.  That was good to see.

The other night Jess Settles said Pfeiffer is one of the best officials in the country. Near soiled myself

TBF, Pfeiffer doing B10 games and I see him in the NCAA’s as well.  So he must be graded fairly well to get those gigs.

I actually think Brooks Wells does a decent job in the games I see him in… but he probably can’t do our games.

Do you think Howard is fighting for his job?

Brooks has worked our games at PBA before.

It’s been mentioned by myself and others. Fred doesn’t get animated and some of this may be due to his heart co diction. He can’t go Fredcon out there. But he can protect his guys. As much as I hate the Bluejays, my goodness Mac works and whines and bitches a lot. But I think it has an influence too, especially at the end of games. He worked the refs so hard against Seton Hall, thought for sure he was gonna pick up a T. He’s always fighting for his guys. Especially Kalk. Fred and staff should continue to stay on the officials - our bigs are getting punished and KT gets held more than Billy Kemp

I’ve seen him for a few but it always seems like it’s just exhibitions or non con cupcakes.

His dad and brother did the Hastings college game yesterday.

I'm not sure it matters.  Cipriano was as animated as it gets.  We still got hosed in the 70's. Iba yelled at his players as much as the officials, still didn't matter.  Danny was the best!  Always on the officials, and Norm Stewart (my favorite Nee moment), but once again, didn't change the culture.  Until NU breaks into the top tier of this conference, we're going to have to put up with this.  So, let's revisit this in the off-season.  🙂

I meant that cocky no-holds-barred attitude. I think Brice can become that scorer in crunch time. It's in him, I believe.

Brice had 6 shots yesterday. He loses focus and intensity occasionally, I agree with that notion. But let's not call him a ball hog. He basically leads the entire team in assists. That's really unfair to say he doesn't play within "the team concept."
