Diop is a freak.  7-3 wingspan, jumping out of the gym, and ran like a gazelle down the court on drills.  I probably could have said a lot of the same things about Dube Okeke so we'll see how he looks in our first exhibition game.

You would NEVER have pointed out that Dube Okeke nailed 5 straight 3-pointers in drills like you could say about Matar, though.

Dube could jump, but he couldn’t run well or shoot well and he wasn’t 6’ 10” with a 7’3” wingspan.

Diop? Dude ran well in the full court drills and I didn’t pull out a tape measure but if he’s  not 6’10 with a 7’3 wing span it wasn’t obvious. I have no reason to doubt those measurements. He did hit five threes in a row which is substantially better than what you or I could do.

I think he's referring to Dube Okeke?

You are correct:

“The 6-foot-8, 230-pound Nigeria native with the 7-4 wingspan holds the Winthrop record for career blocked shots with 165 in three seasons.”

RE Dube….Well I guess I was wrong on a chunk of what I asserted.  As the Vonz tried to say “I was wrong”.  He was an explosive shoot blocker and dunker that’s for sure.  I did not remember that freakish wingspan.  Back to the main point, seems like Diop has more potential, we’ll see.

Sheesh.  Here's the problem with social media: I intended my measurements post about Okeke to be lighthearted banter about a guy being not as tall as suggested (according to one publication) with a slightly different wingspan from what others had (what's an inch or two once we're beyond 7 feet?)--in a context where measurables are always fluid and mostly ballpark ranges.

And then posters are clarifying and apologizing--and making me feel like a jerk when no clarification or apology is needed or expected.

So . . . my bad.
