T3 Bracketology has them on the "Almost Flat Bubble"

BIG TEN

Locks: Purdue, Indiana, Northwestern

Should Be In: Rutgers, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan State

Bubble: Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan

Almost Flat Bubble: Nebraska

Northwestern moved into lock status from a bubble position after its latest fantastic stretch of basketball. Rutgers, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland and Michigan State all sit in a position where it will take a lot to miss the field, but not a full lock yet. Wisconsin and Penn State remain firmly on the bubble, and Michigan's win over Michigan State pushes them up to the bubble as well, but still out of the field. Nebraska will need to win its next four games, at minimum, to start to have real berth conversations, but the chances are not at 0%.

In the "WAG" bracket on bracket matrix, we moved from "no longer considered for at large" to "on life support".... Back from the dead!!

Welcome back to the 80's!

Net: 89

Q1: 3-10, Q2: 4-4, Q3: 0-0, Q4: 7-0

Our Company 87-91

Tulane, Hofstra, Us, Toledo, Vandy

Notables

#67- Ohio State (Moved up.....)

#72- Wisconsin (jumped from 76)

Our quad games left- 4, 2 (MSU is at 36, so that's very close to being a Q1 home game), 1

Still would be nice to get some style points on Saturday so we don't drop back down.  We also... as we noticed last night... need some of the teams we've played to keep on winning.  (FSU, Creighton and BC I'm looking at you)

Thankfully they'd have to drop all the way to 135 for it to become a Q3 loss.  At #97 and not having lost any "bad games" really-- they should be ok.

One I've been a little disappointed with is Maine.  Beating a good mid-major or two is one way to boost our numbers.  Our cupcake wins are stinking it up.  I thought Maine had a nice chance of having a good season.  Played us tough and then beat Boston College.  However, they've really struggled in conference which really stinks.

Agreed with Nebrasketball1979 above. Add 1 to each of these. This is unless they throw a bone our way for the potential media coverage/story.

17 Wins = NIT Bubble

18 Wins = NIT In

19 Wins = NCAA Bubble

20 Wins = NCAA In

Man it'd be a real kick to the nuts if we didn't get into the NIT with 17, but I guess it all depends on where the metrics fall.

I did a the bracket generator and added in some B1G tourney results to T-Rank simulator.  Should we win out and all other games remain the same on who should win... we'd actually capture the 8 seed and play 9 seed Michigan.

Using T-Rank, beating Michigan and Losing to Purdue would leave us as the "8th team out" but I don't believe that one bit as it had PSU and Wisco above us in that scenario.  We'd be 18-15, So I still think outside looking in... but I think 17 gets it done for NIT.

17 in the regular season, probably NIT

17 because we won one or two in the conference tournament is probably bubble

Paraphrasing Jerry Palm on the college sports XM channel

"NET does't calculate what the the committee wants to reward...they don't care how badly you won/lost"

"When they look at NET its more about your opponents NET rather than your own"

No offense to Jerry Palm, but in regards to bracket accuracy he's one of the worst in the business according to bracketmatrix. I don't even bother looking at Palm's or Lunardi's brackets.

I think we need to worry more about the teams that are on the bubble right now with unattainable NET rankings compared to ours than we do our personal NET ranking right now.

Penn State, Michigan, and USC (blowing the doors off Colorado in Boulder) were not good outcomes last night. Penn State and USC are in much better position right now. If they win a couple more we aren't passing them. Michigan getting hot is also an issue.

Maybe it's just me, and maybe it's just the way this season has unfolded, but getting an at-large bid in the NCAA tournament is far from my mind right now. Maybe moreso in a week. Preseason my expectations for a "good" year was to make the NIT. And, although we derailed a bit, we're right back on track.

But even at 11-14 at the time, we likely needed 6+ wins to make it into the NCAA tournament. We're at 3-0 right now which is fantastic. I'm just not in the frame of mind to be scouring the internet for Delaware State and Marist stats and live stream links. Not just yet.

It's certainly all premature to think NCAA but it's fun to think it's not entirely out of the equation as of this point. Things probably get a lot more real in terms of "bubble" if can find a way to be 16-14 (9-10) after next tuesday. Might see ourselves in a few more next four outs

Ya I may also be getting ahead of myself 😂. It's great to pass the time at work though. I'll gladly take getting into the NIT with the opportunity to play a Villanova or North Carolina. Would be awesome given where I thought this season was heading.

My man, it's premature to be thinking even NIT at this point.

Good, because I am not in the frame of mind to provide such links just yet:)

Just curious what would happen if we won the last 3.  We have a unique resume.  It would certainly garner some attention to see if it is what they want. That being said we will be 10.5 or so underdogs at Iowa which gives us very little realistic chance to win.
