TheKamdyMan Posted February 19, 2013 Report Posted February 19, 2013 looks like the weather is moving it back. This post has been promoted to an article Quote
Norm Peterson Posted February 19, 2013 Report Posted February 19, 2013 That's gonna be a tough weekend. You have Stars Hockey in the evening so that's not a good time. But then you have the State Championship Swim Meet in the afternoon, directly conflicting with hoops. Which is only a big deal due to parking. The swimmers will get there first, take up space, and push basketball parking out of the way. Best if you get there early, I guess. Quote
HuskerFever Posted February 19, 2013 Report Posted February 19, 2013 Does anybody know how this impacts the national coverage of the game? Quote
cipsucks Posted February 19, 2013 Report Posted February 19, 2013 Does anybody know how this impacts the national coverage of the game? They said on KFAB this morning that if the game was moved to Saturday, there would be no TV. Quote
hhcmatt Posted February 19, 2013 Report Posted February 19, 2013 It's possible that BTN could pick it up Quote
uneblinstu Posted February 19, 2013 Report Posted February 19, 2013 It's possible that BTN could pick it up They've currently got game scheduled for that time slot. Quote
BjoeHusker Posted February 19, 2013 Report Posted February 19, 2013 Dumb. Basketball is played indoors... Quote
TomEadesSucks Posted February 19, 2013 Report Posted February 19, 2013 I think the best we can hope for is ESPN3 or BTN2GO. Quote

hhcscott Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 As I sit here in Tucson AZ I lament how soft you all have become. Blizzard, pshaw! Noah121 and tcp 2 Quote
49r Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Why, when I was a kid, we'd LAUGH at a foot of snow. 18 inches? A mere DUSTING!!! 2 feet? HA! I'm with Scott. This is pathetic. Noah121 1 Quote
tcp Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 What sucks is yet another week long break and the last realistic shot at a win not going to be on tv. of course, that means we probably win this thing now. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Cool...it is supposed to snow Saturday and Sunday as well. This is going to be fun. Quote
cipsucks Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Bring on the snow! I got a freezer full of steaks, dozens of jars of cipsalsa, plenty of beer and whiskey and I bought a two pack of Nyquil today, just in case. Quote
royalfan Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Sounds like you ought to just host the Husker Hoops Central gathering Cip. Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Might have to get my long pants out if we get 12 inches of snow. Quote
Hooper Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 As far as I'm concerned, this is a double-header. I get to watch my Huskers at 1pm and then watch St. Mary's take down Creighton at 6pm. Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 I'm hoping the weather holds up that I can go to the Husker game, then if the roads allow off to GI to watch the Haymakers in their scrimmage with the Danger. My son is interning for the Haymakers so hoping to make it out to see how they might be this year. Quote
trickey Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 What sucks is yet another week long break and the last realistic shot at a win not going to be on tv. of course, that means we probably win this thing now. Dang...why doesn't that sound nearly as awful as you meant it? As far as I am concerned...If we could keep winning, it can snow from now until April. Quote
PAhusker Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Does anybody know how this impacts the national coverage of the game? They said on KFAB this morning that if the game was moved to Saturday, there would be no TV. its still possible since the official release said tv is "to be determined" or something like that. if they get the espn guys here and the tv trucks, i dont see why they couldnt put it on espnnews since they only show sportscenter every hour saturday afternoons and use that for overflow of games that are just starting anyway Quote
jimmykc Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Does anyone remember an NU game being rescheduled because of weather? Years ago I believe a Texas Tech game got cancelled because they couldn't get to Lincoln. I'm sure there must have been others. Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 It seems that games are moved much more now than a long time ago. My dad remembers driving to a game back in the 50's with the head coach and they went in the ditch. Couldn't see the road because of the blowing snow, but they got pulled out by a farmer and made it to the game. I think the game was in Randolph. Back then the starting five drove with the head coach and the second five with the score keeper. No buses for basketball. Quote

Years ago I believe a Texas Tech game got cancelled because they couldn't get to Lincoln. I'm sure there must have been others. That Oklahoma St. game in 2007 when they moved the game to the end of the season and we had to play them back to back games in the Big 12 tournament. Won in Lincoln, got waxed in the tourney. Quote
Handy Johnson Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 I don't recall a game ever being postponed because of snow. I understand class schedules and all of that, but most assuredly we are collectively getting SOFT. Quote
