hhcmatt Posted May 3, 2021 Report Posted May 3, 2021 Nebraska lands the verbal commit of Quaran McPherson, 6'4" combo guard from Queens, NY. McPherson had recently played a year of post-grad prep at Missouri based prep powerhouse Link Year. Prior to that, McPherson played for prep school Woodstock Academy in Connecticut. Originally starting out at The Patrick school and Christ the King, the well travelled McPherson tore his ACL and meniscus, causing him to lose a year. McPherson had been on Matt Abdelmassih's radar for years, first being offered by St. Johns back in 2016. More recently McPherson popped onto Nebraska's and other Power 5 schools with a showing at the Pangos All-American camp in late 2020. This puts Nebraska with one more scholarship to use for 2021-22 and fills all for 2022-23. View full article Quote

Very interesting commitment. Has size and looks like a bit of explosion. Under the radar. I like the guard rotation as it currently stands, so I wonder why they took him. Elijah wood 2.0? Quote
kldm64 Posted May 3, 2021 Report Posted May 3, 2021 Not a horrible pick-up for the future (maybe) but can't image he won't have much impact on this season. Quote
jimmykc Posted May 3, 2021 Report Posted May 3, 2021 Quaran McPherson (prospectiveinsight.com) Here's a long interview. Sounds like a combo guard with good size who played with Kofi Cockburn at some point. thrasher31, BjoeHusker and REDitus 3 Quote
hhcmatt Posted May 3, 2021 Author Report Posted May 3, 2021 You'll recognize Cockburn's name here. Back in 2017 these guys were the next thing coming and it would appear that McPherson tore his ACL and meniscus at some point in 2018 and dropped off everyone's radar. thrasher31 and mwm89 1 1 Quote

Navin R. Johnson Posted May 3, 2021 Report Posted May 3, 2021 So he played a year at a prep school after he graduated? Anyone know how old he is? Quote
Go Big Fred Posted May 3, 2021 Report Posted May 3, 2021 Moves us to 19th on Rivals, intrigued but would be surprised if he plays big minutes this year Quote
REDitus Posted May 3, 2021 Report Posted May 3, 2021 This roster shouldn't have any depth issues at any spots. PG's,Wings & Bigs, we should have it covered. Quote
JBARGIE Posted May 3, 2021 Report Posted May 3, 2021 (edited) I assuming he redshirts with Oleg? That would give the coaches their "2 sit-outs" that they like to have every year. Most importantly Quaran is childhood friends with CJ and Simeon Wilcher. He really is Elijah Wood 2.0. Edited May 3, 2021 by JBARGIE HuscurAdam 1 Quote
