Popular Post hhcdave Posted January 30, 2019 Popular Post Report Posted January 30, 2019 Not to defend Tim Miles - because he certainly deserves his share of blame for this mess (and the most) - but I’m interested why Marc Boehm continues to safely have his job and coasting into retirement. He was/is here to “oversee basketball” and he’s overseen three men’s basketball coaches, lasted three athletic directors and the worst period of basketball in Nebraska history. Yet he has a secure job and keeps cashing those big checks into retirement? Why exactly? You could even argue his handling of Connie Yori was a debacle but that’s out of my “line of expertise” so I’ll stay in my lane on that one. Get this guy out of here. I don’t want him anywhere near the 4th coach under his watch as the titanic sinks. And local media reading this - grow a pair and stir this topic up. Huskerone Posted January 30, 2019 Report Posted January 30, 2019 Not going to disagree. I think all of the basketball program needs a look if we're blowing this thing up. Quote

tcp Posted January 30, 2019 Report Posted January 30, 2019 (edited) The reality is that some people's great job skill is ladder climbing and holding on. It's the reality of the corporate firm model. And Boehm is apparently a master of that game. Edited January 30, 2019 by tcp Faux Mike Peltz 1 Quote
hhcdave Posted January 30, 2019 Author Report Posted January 30, 2019 So of all the local media that reads this board... who will be first to bring this up, ask some questions, etc? Part of this programs problem throughout the years has been lack of "fire" from the local media. I'll give Lee a pass although sometimes he was a bit over the top but I'd prefer that to being a lip piece for the U. basketballjones 1 Quote

Huskerpapa Posted January 30, 2019 Report Posted January 30, 2019 NM, I found his role: As Executive Associate Athletic Director, Boehm has oversight of all External Operations including development, ticketing, N Club, marketing, communications, creative and emerging media, HuskerVision, licensing and branding, spirit squads and community, government and charitable relations. Dave, I realize we are all a bit despondent with how the team is playing right now, but I question why we are calling out Boehm today. We may have blamed him ten years ago, but not today. Actually, he's not even very good at those, either. We have terrible marketing and our web presence is about the worst I've seen in a power 5 school. That website is a disorganized monstrosity. But hey, the cheerleaders still look okay, so I'll give him a pass there. NUtball 1 Quote

Yes. And the guy who takes money for parking. I dont think MB is to blame at all, he’s not hiring, recruiting, or coaching. This program desperately needs a new look though across the board. Clean it all out and next year come back for baseball if they keep trending mediocrity. Quote
