Other than he doesn't elevate much on his jumper, he has a veerrrry nice, compact shooting stroke that appears to be really accurate.  I like the look of his shot; just wish he get a little more air under his feet.  But very accurate it appears and also very quick windup and release.

Seems to have very good hoops IQ.  Crafty around the basket.  Anticipates well.  Good passer.  And he can dunk.  So he's like a 6'7" Ryan Anderson with a nicer looking shot and probably more ups.

Ha!

But I'd take Ryan Anderson again any time.

I like the offer.  He has a D1 body and a nice all around game.  Athleticism isn't just about how high you can jump and how fast you can run (though I think he's sneaky athletic in those ways), it's also about how much muscle your body can put on.  This kid's game actually reminds me of AWIII.  A lot of kids that are freak leapers and runners get beat up in the B1G because they have skinny bodies.

Also, Ryan is 6'4".. that's a lot different than 6'7".  This kid has long arms and decent physicality.  If he bulked up to 225-230, he could be a very good stretch 4 in certain situations.

But, Jamaal's free-throw motion makes Walt Pitchford's elbow-tastic shooting motion seem perfectly fine. Whew.

I heard that he shot that way because when he grew up in his neighborhood he played with the older guys and they blocked his shot so he learned to shoot that weird way so that he got it off after they jumped by.  Don't know if it is true or not.
