Wisconsin game was really good but Bo said his team was not intimidated by the venue since they have played at Ohio State and Michigan State which were much tougher places to win.4 points

Give me those two and Covington and we can call it a day. A serviceable center, a very good one year SG while Covington redshirts for the year. That then gives us a solid class but then gives us 4 ships for 2015 as well. Would be the dream scenario for me.2 points -
Molinari named assistant coach

The mindset of your typical Husker fan is that it's all about recruiting and stars. They also believe that young and energetic equals great recruiter. To your average Husker fan "older" coaches aren't as good of recruiters as younger coaches. They covet the "big name". A lot, if a not a good majority, of Husker fans would trade Miles for any coach that could deliver a class of all 5 star players. I like this hire a lot. You basically have 2 head coaches on the bench. This is going to take a lot of pressure off of Tim moving forward. I'm not sure what Mo's motivation was for leaving West Ill. My guess would be that he wanted to make more $$ without the stress of being a head coach while getting back into the BIG 10.2 points -

Mo is making about 115k at W. Illinois so this would definitely be a bump in pay as well as everything else. I absolutely love this hire if we make it...gives Miles that Smith replacement in terms of basketball IQ and if someone needs add more effort into recruiting it can be National Coach of the year Tim Miles. If you want to hear something funny, this is almost like Fred Hoiberg hiring Doc Sadler.2 points

I'll try here. Molinari would be without any doubt, a "bang" hire. Maybe not in sense in which everybody is thinking, but definitely a great hire if all this is true. Why? Experience. That's it. Everybody wants a "bang" hire. Who are these guys? They are the up and comers, the popular names, the hot names to throw around, they are the supposed bigtime recruiters sitting on the benches of prolific programs, and they supposedly have big connections. But while having a talked about name, what have they done to earn this? Maybe had a part in getting some high profile recruits to a name program? But wasn't that name program going to end up with some good recruits even without that hot name assistant on the bench? Most likely. So if this turns out to be true, we get a well-respected, well connected coach with 30+ years of experience in the business. 30+ years of networking with everybody surrounding the college game. He's made multiple stops in the 30+ years. He's been to the final 4. He's seen everything. He knows what he's doing. But he's not a hot name that has landed on the bench of a known program within the last couple years. This is eerily similar to when we didn't get Groce and his hot name and had to settle for some guy named Miles.2 points

Molonari spent about ten minutes in the Nebraska coaches locker room after the game this Fall. I have never heard of an opposing coach do that before. Miles and he are pretty close.1 point -

Add to that the impressive feat of Huskers being the ONLY program to have the top 15 in attendance in football, volleyball, and both men's & women's basketball this past season! That has been an amazing accomplishment for NU in a state like Nebraska with a population of 1.8M. It should be noted that the blue school in the big O had an attendance ranking in the top 10 as well GO NEBRASKA! The baseball team will be fairly high up in attendance, also. What makes that even more impressive is the fact that for half the baseball games, you have to sit outside in a parka to watch a home game.1 point -

Odd we could lose our lead assistant to a head coaching gig in the Summit, and then replace that assistant with a head coach from the Summit. I would think Molinari would have some Chicago connections. He had a stud freshman this year at Westen Illinois, last name of Covington. He's a 6'5" wing who I've seen play a couple of times. He hails from Illinois and would have been one of our top 4 offensive players as a frosh. If Molinari could get a kid like that to Western Illinois, he'll do fine here.1 point

Googled Ian Chiles and found a 7-2 center who average 16 and 7, got really excited. Then I realized it was the wrong guy and was really disappointed. I did the same thing, haha. Even tweeted at Goodman asking if he meant Morgan State not IUPUI.1 point -

GoT for sure. Can't wait! A UConn/Kentucky final doesn't have a ton of interest for me, but I really hope the Huskies win. I hate to see high school all-star teams win national titles.1 point

We have Harriman and Hunter as the "recruiters" on the staff. Craig Smith was Miles' go to guy on the bench and the two were on the same wave length in terms of game planning. We need a balanced staff and Molinari will serve as Tim's right hand man on the bench and will also be very valuable in evaluating talent. He has 30 plus years in the business and has also been a NBA scout, so he will be able to identify talent and project guys to the D1 level.1 point

Try not to get any tears on your sweater vest. Just a perfect example of players (and in this case fans) reflecting their FB coach's personality. He is not from Nebraska, he knew nothing of either NU or CU before dropping passes here err... attending school here. obviously he also forgot about the basketball game in December as he was probably dropping passes err.... practicing hard for his bowl game. This sounds very Craytonish of you...no need to hide it, we all know you are a Crayton fan. Where did Kenny say Nebraska was better than Crayton this year? So once Nebraska beats Crayton at the Pinnacle next year..this means Kenny is free to enjoy Crayton's basketball losses? Like many of us..I'm sure Kenny grew weary of the holier than thou attitude from most Crayton fans. And being a Nebraska basketball fan he has no reason to like Crayton...but yes, I'm sure this all Pelini's fault. Errrrrr yes, very Craytonish of you Crayton fan. You guys just can't help yourself. It doesn't take long for you guys to be outed. As if you knew.... Be it a fan of either, a fan of both or a fan of neither is moot. Reality is, one fan base is in the position to regularly defend actions and words of players and coaches, one is not. Some people are willing to do so for "their team"(your name here), some are not (my name here). For me and me alone, its a core values decision not a loyalty decision. At the end of the day, KB has his right to say what he feels is appropriate and we have the right to say I like or dont like it. One fan base has written on their walls " Through These Gates Pass the Greatest Fans in College Football.”.... known for their collective class. I dont think KB is honoring that as a fan and I am not going to defend it. Is it part of your "class" and "core values" to diss KB for "dropping passes". Kind of hypocritical on your part, not to mention way off base, as KB is a superb wide out who makes some great catches, including a highlight reel ESPN special--regardless of what you think of his tweeting.1 point -

No, Silverbacked, you're doing it wrong... try it like this: "MY favorite team (and/or college) is composed of nothing but the most righteous and upstanding models of human decency ever assembled, while YOUR favorite team (and/or college) is a collection of the most despicable and sycophantic examples of trash the world has ever known...and if you disagree with me on this that only serves to prove just how wrong you are about your personal stance on the matter. Because you are wrong." Et cetera ad infinitum. I believe that is the goal of this thread isn't it?1 point -
