they announced on channel 8 abc news that NU and Wisconsin will wear alternate uniforms for the game sunday. all reds for NU. all white for Wisc. They are suppose to look like the nba christmas unis.

Correct, that is why the home football game with Wisconsin this year was also a "special" uniform game.

why must we have to have GD black in our uniforms now all of a sudden?  It's not a school color (no matter WHAT anyone says) and it never has been and should never be...

Yeah, I wasn't referring to these uniforms specifically, I was just ranting on about how EVERY time there is a conversation about uniforms we can't avoid discussing whether or not they should include black or that we should have all blacks or something.

 

It's more of general issue I have with just about every school now feeling the need to implement black in their color scheme regardless of whether it is a part of the traditional color scheme, and we are no exception.  The VB unis have black accents, the BB uniforms have had differing levels of black in them and finally, this year, the football team committed the most heinous act of moving away from their iconic uniforms and incorporated black.

 

I feel that this atrocity nationwide can be attributed to the manufacturers of the apparel, in our case Adidas, who foist these "cool new" alternate uniforms on the fans (and the excuse that sells it the best is that the recruits love it which is a complete crock) in a desperate attempt to sell more gear and increase their own profit margins.

 

Yes it's a scam, and yes, we're all buying into the belief that we need to do this for the good of recruiting or the players or whatever, but in reality it's not a fashion show it's a game.  We go to watch our favorite players play.  I could go on about the way we are being manipulated by these corporations and modern society being hazardous to our well being and yadda yadda but that goes way beyond being on topic on this forum so I'll leave it at that.

Are those kid off your yard yet? ;-) I have to say I agree. Nebraska has a brand already and all the novelty uniforms just scream MERCHANDISING (in Mel Brooks' voice)

These basketball uniforms are terrible IMO. Maybe they won't look so bad when the players have them on, I don't know.

 

As for the football Neb/Wiscy uniforms, I actually kind of liked Nebraska's uniform. That was, until I found out that Wisconsin was going to sport the SAME EXACT design. That just makes both of us look like idiots. Thanks Adidas.

It's just a jersey with A LOT of red on it. What could make it so terrible? (No sarcasm)
