Back to amateur hour for next practice! Box outs, free throws, layups! Learn those things Huskers or you will be lucky to make the NIT

and something as simple as grabbing the ball on a rebound.  Lost at least 3 just in the last minute.

I don't like to post right after games, especially after losses, but maaan can we pleeease learn to use the backboard when we get to the rim, "cough, cough, terran."  It was a competitive game, I liked the effort.  I just haaate losing at home.  Now have to forget it and look to Iowa.

Am I the only one who thinks Benny has lost his MOJO or confidence?

It's not just passing up multiple shots but he looked hesitant breaking the press and looked to want to give it up to others to bring the ball up.

I almost had to turn the game off when indiana stopped guarding him completely, and parker had no clue what to do.

that's the kind of stuff that happens in middle school games. "Don't guard the short guy that can't score"!!!

I don't know if I have ever posted right after a game (especially a loss) because I tend to get a little emotional and would probably say something that I would regret once I have a chance to cool down, so take this with a grain of salt...

But...

I don't know that I have ever seen a college basketball team be so incapable of making layups, handling full court pressure, and getting a defensive rebound...

Im starting to worry that last season was an anomaly and this season they are reverting back to the mean...

I'm not feeling very good about this team's chances of making the NCAA Tournament this season. Nebraska can't afford to be losing conference games at home...because they aren't good enough right now to be stealing very many road wins...I think losing both Abraham and Smith has just been too much for this team to overcome...

It looks like they will both still be out for a few more weeks...and while I think this team will improve once they make it back into the lineup, I feel like it may be too little too late.

I think the loss of Smith from the coaching staff might have been a bigger loss than most of us (including myself) thought it would be. I think, at least myself, underestimated how important he was to this team.

I think we may have to wait until next season for this program to take that next major step...when Nebraska adds Andrew White and (hopefully) Akoy Agau to the lineup.

But who knows...

Maybe when Smith and Abraham make it back, they will be the spark this team needs, so they can go on a big run like they did at the end of last season...but I think that could be a lot to ask of a team to make that sort of run at the end of 2 consecutive seasons...

I hope I'm wrong, but as of right now this team has the look of an "NIT" team.

The bad part of that is that was Benny was 8 for 17 from 3.  He should have confidence.

I would agree, he need to take the shot just show that he wasn't afraid to shoot it from there. Miles also said that benny is working on his shot from trey land.

we desperately need Akoy. hopefully he saw how badly we are going to need a big man next year.

Is Akoy offensively challenged? I watched him a couple of years ago in GI, I don't remember much other than he could jump well.

Honestly, I would be satisfied with Agau simply being able to grab some defensive rebounds...

Not much humor on the board or in the game but at least effort was there in both cases. After initial Big 10 results, I can see us losing all the rest of our league games, or still being a bubble team in March. Unfortunately, I lean toward the former as the New Year breaks.

jimmy, you do realize since you've been doing the Walter avatars, Pitchford's game hasn't been very good.  Coincidence?  Maybe, maybe not...  :)

Yes.

I would think that his time spent in Louisville assisted him in becoming more proficient, but in HS he was pretty limited.  The fact that he was "that much better" than most HS bigs helped him score.
