Or just a coincidence? CoinkidinkThe one nice thing is the kid was good enough to get some high level D1 interest in football as a tackle before pursuing hoops. Pretty sure he'd be able to handle himself well in the paint. Quote
hhcmatt Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 He has been offered by Tenneessee. Â Guys at VolNation there were not impressed. Quote
hhcmatt Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Would guess that a coach(s) either saw him or person or on tape at a JUCO summer deal. Â Quote

Yeah, definitely not long, lean & underrated. Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 As a fat man myself, I wouldn't mind that "pudgy body". He isn't long and lean but not thick like Andre was either. Quote

HuskerCager Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Walters, from Walters State. Interesting. And a computer science major. Quote

People see a dude nearly 7 foot tall that isn't a string bean like most of these underdeveloped dudes and they call him fat. Not every big man is going to look like D'jery Baptiste. I'd rather have a dude that is an immovable object on defense in the low post than one that gets outmuscled and thrown around. I'd be okay with having this big boy in Lincoln, unless his film is awful.  Speaking of...anybody got anything on this kid? Highlights? Leg hair closeup? huskerbaseball13 Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Averaged 14 PPG and 7.5 RPG last year. 66% from the field and 59% from the line. Not bad numbers by any means...and those numbers will probably get better next year. Quote

TheKamdyMan Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 http://jucoreport.com/brandon-walters-walters-state/ Here's the only video I can find. Seems to have done well at the juco 150 combine and that's when offers came in. Looks like he can shoot it at least from the clip they showed though there isn't a lot. Silverbacked1 Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 So he can play this year and next? If so I don't see why not get him here. He looked good enough to help and allow for Hammonds to once again look at red shirting. Then we have this guy back next year with a red shirted Hammonds and can see how Jacabson looks and then we have some help at 5. This would also allow for Walter to play the 4. This might be a pretty good pick up this late in the year. If he can gel with this group. That is the most important thing with this team, the team first thinking and playing. Quote
