There's a reason I limit my interactions in the big O w/ fickle Jayskers & overbearing bluejaybackers... I could NEVER wear a Kenny Bell jersey in the fall & a Dougie in the winter in good conscience! NEVER. Blue is not a color to choose to switch to for part of the year; all RED all year. No wishy washy B.S.

Went over to their board...saw they had a thread called "Louisiana Game Thread", clicked on it, and of course it was all about us and how terrible we are and how we don't have a prayer against Baylor and certainly don't have a chance to come close to Creighton.

Okay you guys peaked my interest and I had to go.Haven't to any BJ web site in years. This is classic:

Are you guys serious? Is this discussion really happening?

Nebraska makes a good run against a middle-of-the-pack Big 10 schedule and their fans want you to believe they are the reincarnation of the Wooden/Walton UCLA dynasty. Don't buy into the hype of the local media. Nebraska is playing a lot better and they have some nice pieces but let's not pretend they are even close to our level. Creighton is an elite team. Creighton has the the most transformative scorer of the last decade on its roster. Nebraska is happy to be there. Creighton has significantly higher asipirations in this tournament. If you had told me back in November that we could potentially face Nebraska to advance to the Sweet 16, I would have taken that matchup every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I don't see NU beating Baylor so this won't be an issue. If they pull off a miracle then I would assign a 10% chance of them beating us (our very worst performance coupled with a great one by them). I would not be surprised to see Creighton hang 100 on them. That is the most likely scenario.

Now I remember why I usually don't worry about what others say or think. It just makes you shake your head.

And the sad thing is, that's a fairly "Down to earth" outlook in comparison to the majority of Creighton fans I've known.

My favorite two parts of that:

"They are an elite team" (yeah okay)

And

"If they pull out a miracle and beat Baylor."

Okay, sure. It would take a miracle to beat the #7 team in the Big 12. Okay.

Couple if them did worryabout playing us and losing and having to move. That was funny. There was some that talked like it was an intellegent discussion about what could happen in the first game and their second game. But the one I posted was the wildest of them all. Or at least as far as i got.

It's ok, right now they say it'd be a "miracle" if we beat Baylor.

But if we do beat them, then it will be "Baylor played horrible" and "Baylor was so overrated, just like the Big 12"...

just like they said when we didn't have a shot of winning at Indiana OR at home against Wisconsin, and then we did both, and all of a sudden Indiana sucks and Wisconsin played their worst game of the season. Isn't it amazing how all 19 of our wins happened to come at a time when our opponent was going through a rough patch of completely awful basketball? What great fortune we must have.

I live/work in the Twin Cities and was talking with 3 coworkers yesterday about the Tourney. All three are basketball fans and one is even an official. 2 of them thought Creighton was pronounced "Cretin", and the official didn't even know "Cretin" was in Omaha.

This is the reality Bluejay fans hate to face. NOBODY outside of east Omaha gives a fat frog's a** about your program. Sorry

I love how they all think they are "big time" now after joining a watered down mediocre version of what used to be the Big East. High level mid major conference at best that they still couldn't win with their "team of a lifetime".

I enjoyed the ESPN 30 for 30 talking about how great the Big East used to be and how the conference was destroyed by all the good teams leaving and isn't what it used to be. Not one mention of Creighton during the entire documentary.

It went from we would not win 1 Big Ten game to we would not make the NIT to our bubble burst vs Illinois, to now we have no chance vs Baylor. I wonder if they ever get tired of being wrong?

Short Answer: No. I just checked their board and it appears they are in on tons of 4 and 5 stars for next year and after. So already setting themselves up to be wrong again.

Odd that people rooting for a Catholic school don't have a better understanding of the word "miracle" than that! I mean Nebraska beating Baylor and parting the Red Sea. Yeah, those are in the same category. (Where is that sarcasm emoticon?)

My school tomorrow (in lincoln) is having a spirit day for the big game. But when the teacher said over the mic that we could wear Red for the Huskers or blue for Creighton in stead of our regular uniforms I stood up and boo-ed. I was sick to my stomach, we live in Lincoln, not Omaha. Just because some whiny girl had to complain I'm sure.......

Every time you cheer for Creighton God kills a kitten.

Hooowhoo....that boils my blood. Every time someone does something like that (little nitpickers!), God kills a kitten. Lol

Ahhh, FYI, most people in Omaha do *not* usually cheer for Blue in any sense. There does seem to be a lot of people who'll just cheer for 'winners' & can easily be swayed by the passing tide ... I think, for the most part, Omaha is more year-round Husker-focused 'cuz this is BIG RED country, the Cornhusker state after all!

From the other side:

Doug McDermott isn't even gone yet, and already they're calling for Greg's job over on the Jay's message board.

Once in a generation player and we are going to piss it away. Another game looking timid and scared with a roster full on seniors. That is coaching and a lack of leadership.

I was not that stoked about the Mcd hiring when it happened, and i think Jr has made dad look like a better coach then he really is.

In San Antonio after the ISU game a Creighton fan was high fiving the ISU fans and then pulled her hand back when I went to high five her and snootily said "oh, you cheer for Nebraska". Up to that point I was undecided who I was rooting for. Now I'm a Bears fan and it looks like karma is catching up with her. I'm probably going to get punched by a jays fan because every time Baylor scores I'm clapping and laughing. Totally worth staying for this game now.

I can't wait for next season!

That was quick! Big East looking very mid majorish! Games not over yet....but looking like zero teams in the sweet 16 for the "big" east. Although Jays fans may have a point, his son won't be around next year to save his butt. Best Creighton team they will ever assemble and this is what Greg delivers?

She's probably not having a good time at the moment....
