  1. 1. Should we be using the Bon Jovi song "This is our House"

    • No man, no. Never, ever, ever, ever

    • As long as it just for random stuff like highlights after the half. If you have the team come out for this...why are you making us lame.

    • I don't really care/can't actually hear anything. Whatever kids, I'm just here to watch basketball

    • I don't care if Bon Jovi isn't "cool". I enjoy this.

It's horrid.  No (ok, very very very few) 18-22 year old D1 college basketball players want to come onto the court to a Bon Jovi entrance song/video.

Moreover, this is our chance to make Nebraska Basketball and the atmosphere associated with it legitimate, "cool," etc. and playing Bon Jovi for our entrance is nearly as bad as it gets.  Very "cringe worthy."

I'm sure some of you will completely disagree with me and don't think an entrance video matters, but as a 25 year old semi-recent college grad I can tell you with certainty that it does matter to a lot of people my age, most notably the student section (and the team feeding off the energy of the student section).

The Bon Jovi/Nebraska basketball experiment needs to be ended ASAP.

+1. Clap.

Here's why you should hate Jon Bon Jovi. In 1989 the Replacements were on the cover of Musician magazine and the headline read "The Last Great Band of the 80's". JBJ saw this and said he had never heard of the Replacements. Not that he didn't LIKE the Replacements, he had never HEARD of them.

See, I thought using the Bon Jovi song at the scrimmage was just a promotional tool, much like selling Bon Jovi concert tickets for $10 during the scrimmage. So this is a real thing? This might actually be the intro song? I am no spring chicken and grew up about the time this man started making it big so this isn't a generational thing....it's a I don't like this crap kind of thing. Plus, while it is our house, we are paying for it with taxes and such, it should be a team decision. They'll pick some crap that us old white people can't clap to but we can't clap to the fight song so what's new.

I can't say I've heard of them myself. And by the way I'll be in the great city of Superior tomorrow on hiway 14 with lights a flashing.

I figure if all I have to do is recall Hank Jr's Monday Night Football theme and I find myself grateful for even Bon Jovi. Really, it could be a whole lot worse. There is some atrocious music out there.

My informal surveys among young people (20-something's) who are both musically gifted and aware of the current music scene suggest this: Bon Jovi is just fine and should not be a problem in the Nebrasketball context. Sorry to those who have a strongly-held contrary view.

If no one else uses this and Bonj made it kind of just for us, then why not? It doesn't suck that bad. Not everything has to be hip hop, which I would dislike.

Actually, if you read the YouTube comments, you'll see that the New Jersey Devils have recently started using this song (apparently the NE Pats too), and people are not very pleased. So even JBJ's own state thinks the song is incredibly lame.

Why hasn't Jadler weighed in on this?

I watched this the other day as I was dropping a deuce (had diarrea).  Kept waiting for the song to pick up and get me pumped up, but it was such a lame song that I ended up not even being able to complete my poop.  I like bon jovi, but this just isn't a pre-game song (the name of it was the only thing good about it).  I really hope they pick a much more enthusiastic song!

Rather than relying on a song to keep you regular, can I suggest broccoli instead?
