Gary will not play Monday - no timetable on when he will be allowed to return

Because of all the injuries, Gary being on double secret probation has flown under the radar.

Thanks for the recap, dimes. A lot of great info to digest. Hope they're firing on all cylinders defensively on Monday. GBR

Is this what it feels like when people use Chat GPT to do their work for them?

Geez, what did Juwan Gary do? Murder a teammate, bury his body in a gravel pit, be deemed incompetent to stand trial, which eventually lead to further investigation unveiling improper payments to players, drug use, recruiting violations?

It’s weird that no explanation, or even a hint at what it is has been given. The “day-to-day” timeline being given actually makes me think grades. Something that can change with each assignment, quiz, test etc.

I don't think it's all that unusual for them to not give explanations. They said it was an unspecified violation of team rules. Last year, Walker was out about six games. Did they ever say why?

Maybe I’m letting my over all impression of college coaches influence my thoughts here. Usually coaches allude to “gotta get right in the classroom” or “needs to be a better teammate” when players are skipping class or late to meetings/weights/practice. But you’re right, Fred tends to keep those things very in house.

IDK, but IIRC Derrick Walker missing a lot of games early last season was attributed to his own decision; unspecified personal reasons but I think part of it was put down to a lack of motivation to play on his part.

I must of missed that. I know a lot of people jumped to the conclusion of a failed drug test. And maybe it’s just the way you phrased it that seems so off putting.

Ya I knew that but to me there’s a huge difference between depression and not being motivated to play. That’s why I said maybe it was just the way he worded  it that I found troubling.

You're quite right; I didn't intend any negative connotation.  i was just going from my faulty recollection (late at night).  Husker Papa's memory is much better;  Derrick Walker's play after he returned was inspired; anything but 'un-motivated.'

Lol...if we are counting on my memory, we are in deep trouble.  That said, I did remember that specific article.

Monday's game is a first of a four-game homestand for the Big Red, as the Huskers will leave Lincoln once before Big Ten Conference play begins on Dec. 6, a neutral-site matchup with Oregon State in Sioux Falls, S.D., on Nov. 18.

The Huskers battled with injuries heading into the exhibition game with Doane, as NU dressed just six scholarship players in the 84-53 win on Oct. 29.

We better make it to the Dance this year with a victory. "Lindenwood, which will be eligible for the NCAA Tournament in 2026-27." Would be sad if they make it before we do.
