Reminds me of the old joke about how do you make a Kleenex dance?

You put a little boogie in it.

Haha! Got my three year old on that one in the last week.

I started the last update with this and I'll start this one that way too.  Juwan Gary is a human cheat code.

I also stated this:  "With our cupcake feast in non-con we still need to be solidly in the 40's I would think to get that NIT bid."  It seems like this win vs KSU was necessary to get us into that NIT conversation.  Can we pull off the 3 or 4 more upsets necessary to upgrade to NCAA Tourney bubble territory?

Ken has us back to 20-11 (10-10).  Torvik says 21-10 (11-9).

2-2 in the last four, and we got the wins everyone expected, MSU and @KSU 😬.  We go 3-1 in the next four and things set up nicely for 2024.  Has it really been 10 years since we last went to the NCAA Tournament?  Sheesh!

San José State drops again to #173.  Man they really miss Omari Moore.  Okay, here we go.

Back in Andy Katz’s Power 36 at #25!

  1. Nebraska (NR): The Huskers beat Michigan State at home and then followed that up with a road win at Kansas State. Fred Hoiberg has a real shot to get this program to the NCAA Tournament.

In Jon Rothstein's top 45 as well

34. Nebraska

The Skinny: Juwan Gary is the truth.

That's what I don't understand.  Fred clearly got the memo that playing cupcakes and racking up wins in the non-con is the key to unlocking the NET formula, but also those wins over cupcakes need to be 30-40-50 point type blowouts or else this just doesn't work.

I'm afraid we're gonna end up being an 19-11 team that just barely squeaks into the NIT at this point.

To me beating cupcakes by 30-40 is more something that a good team does that is reflective in these ratings as opposed to a way that a decent team can game the system. If we end up 19-12 it doesn't matter how much we beat ND or SC St by.

Iowa St up there hasn't really beaten anyone but they're going to play a bunch of someones and be favored to win in the majority of those games. They underperform in the league and that gaudy non-con and NET doesn't mean much.
