It was kind of weird. Fred talked about Juwan with the other guys that were out like he wouldn't be suiting up then later came back and mentioned the 10 MPG thing. The perils of live-tweeting a press conference.

With all the new faces, this would have been a really great year to do this. And I'm sure the commitments were made before anyone knew that Mast would be playing for his home country's Olympic team, Allick and Keita would be held out due to ongoing recovery from injuries, Gary would be just now released for contact, and Mattar would commit but not be eligible due to not having been enrolled already.

Now seems as good as time as any to recall that the Huskers went 3-0 on their last international trip to Italy before putting together one of the worst seasons in Nebraska Basketball history, going 7-25 in Hoiberg's first season.  I can't guarantee I won't wonder by the end of next week if Harry Burt is going to start this season, but I'm hoping that revisiting the past will put me in the right state of mind when evaluating this trip.

Tips: They should bring Doc S. back to supply some laughs and be sure to explain how to use a bidet. Oh, and don't make a video of the trip this time.

I bolded the Central Time zones when this is taking place.

They'll figure out if streaming is possible when they get there. Most gyms likely have wifi these days.

Cale Jacobsen might play some at the five spot. He was praised for his hard work and toughness.

 

Eli Rice was top scorer in pre trip scrimmage and looks to have his older teammates respect.

 

Ramel Lloyd will play a ton with the ball in his hands.  Sounds like a major audition for him.

 

No mention of Ulis not playing.
