Nebraska (6-11) vs Purdue (13-2) game thread

I came home from work and decided to take a nap.  Just woke up and hopped on here to see how badly they are doing.  Should I turn on the game or just roll over and go back to sleep.

Mayan post up call was beyond ridículous. Then Edey posts and elbows Walker in the head on next possession posting up, no whistle.

Honestly, if we can finish out this game at or under a 15-point deficit, I would have to commend this team for not succumbing to pure embarrassment.

Nebraska had no chance in this game, but these refs are awful.  I would have said 100 % of the time that is not a foul on Bryce, but these refs decided this time it is.  The offensive guy ran into Bryce, who was backing away.

I don't know who the hot mic was, but someone said that "if you don't quit, you're going to get a technical."  If that was directed at Fred, go ahead and get one.  The team has played very carelessly with the basketball, have made bonehead play after bonehead play.  You are down 23, Purdue has been in the bonus the 1st 5 minutes in the 1st half, and 1st 3 minutes in the 2nd half, and the only way the other team gets a foul called on them is if they knock the Nebraska guy down, and sometimes they don't even get that called.

I think the Verge experiment is done.  When Trey gets back, Verge needs to stay on the bench, and get in for mop-up duty.  That last effort on defense by Verge was awful.  The Purdue guy sets a weak screen and Verge lollygags around it.  The guy in his zone drains a 3.

How can our coaches recruit the team I'm watching right now and legitimately think to themselves we can compete against the B1G? Our players don't look like they are in the same stratosphere.

We had a very slim chance of winning this game to start.  We left ourselves no chance turning the ball over 17 times and forcing 6 turnovers on Purdue.

 

This Painter mic is super annoying also.  Of course, they couldn't mic me up if I was a coach unless they had multiple people to sub for the beep buttons.
