Crazy how fragile life can be. I had figured that Kobe might have been in Philly on Saturday night, since LeBron was about to pass him for 3rd on the all-time scoring list, and Kobe Bryant had been a Philadelphia-area H.S. player. Man, this whole situation is sad. Never take a day of one's life for granted, that's for sure !

In the line of work that i'm in, I have had a few close calls of getting hit by a vehicle.

Speechless.

I’ve been without words all day regarding this news. I’m an expecting father, and the vision in my head of him grasping for his daughter in their last seconds, knowing the helicopter was going down, is destroying me.

I grew up as a huge MJ fan, but admittedly only caught the tail end of his career. I was in love with the “MJ attitude,” and never thought we’d see that again. But Kobe man.... dude was so fun to watch. And just a ruthless killer.

I’m gonna stop cause I can’t do the man justice... RIP Kobe, his daughter, and the other humans on the helicopter. Thoughts and prayers to all the families involved.

Tragic news for all 9 aboard. As one who has had some experience in these situations, I will bet that it was a case of disorientation and pilot error. Should have never been cleared to take off, especially if the pilot was using visual clues to navigate.

Despised him while he played, based on who he played for but damn he was good.  Add in he had gotten his life in order and was such an ambassador for the game.  He is one of those folks you will remember where you were when you heard the news.

The world lost a good one.
