People like to point to Minnesota as a blueprint for a turn around - the reason Minnesota was able to make such a massive turn around is Reggie Lynch and Akeem Springs, both D1 transfers. I know Lynch had some off the court issues, but sometimes you need to take a flyer on a guy like that.

Especially when you aren't a duke, Kansas or Kentucky

Because you need to win now and in order to do that, you need talent, especially at the position he plays.   He's proven to be a productive player.

White was a stain too...don't tell me that we were better off without him this year.

Scoring isn't everything. His shooting percentage sucks. This isn't fantasy basketball.

I will trust my source on why we wouldn't want him.

On a team that struggled to score, while losing its best scorer....I'd say it's a pretty big thing to think about.

You're talking about Brown here, right?

I think we're all a little confused here.  I went back and read this thread and you started it off talking about Tevin Mack (who appears to have some discipline problems) then about three posts in, @nustudent mentions Brown.

Yeah, I think several of us may be talking about completely different things...

A.   What's that have to do with this.

B.   Not advocating taking a rapist

C.   Last I checked, his on the field stuff panned out.

Your C is my point, his "on the field stuff" worked out because he took chances on sketchy character guys. Once you start down a path of justifying taking talent at the expense of character so your on the field stuff pans out, it's a slippery slope. One I think we are better to avoid.

Again...not advocating taking rapists here.

And Im not so concerned about some sketchy character guys.   Most teams that win have some of those guys.   Key is finding balance.

This years team I feel is stronger than years past in dealing with possible distractions. Guys like Taylor, Jacobsen, Morrow won't let such distractions eat the team away like years past, if we were ever to take players with character issues this would be the team to assimilate them with

if miles can't land mark smith, he needs to go all in and get 2 big time grad transfers. Miles needs to put a winning team on the court next year.

I don't think we've ever landed 1 big time grad transfer. I want to say Moses Abraham is the only one I can recall.

Wouldn't mind looking at some of the Washington Huskies Signees for this coming year. With their coach getting fired 2 of them already got their release. Was a top 5 recruiting class.

Not saying your wrong, but neither Porter is coming to Lincoln.

i'm aware, but Miles has to win this year so why would he bring in 2 guys who have to sit out?

Were we not trying to bring in big time grad transfers before?
