uneblinstu Posted September 14, 2016 Report Posted September 14, 2016 This might be somewhat old news... Quote
khoock Posted September 16, 2016 Report Posted September 16, 2016 He moved up his visit to this weekend I believe. So we will be hosting both him and Parker Stewart for the Oregon game. Stewart shoukd be announcing in the next couple weeks. Not sure about Allen tho. Quote
khoock Posted September 16, 2016 Report Posted September 16, 2016 2018 SG Trey'von Hopkins is also in town this weekend on an unofficial visit. TourneyBound and hhcmatt 2 Quote
aphilso1 Posted September 16, 2016 Report Posted September 16, 2016 I'm surprised that we're only on Page 2 for this kid. He's a Rivals 150 player, with offers from NC State, Cincy, Illinois, Ohio State, Texas A&M, and Xavier. And he's coming on an official visit tomorrow. Where's the buzz? I know our roster has improved, but not to the point where a kid like this should illicit a collective yawn. I, for one, am very excited by the prospect of landing Allen! hhcmatt 1 Quote
Section_316 Posted September 16, 2016 Report Posted September 16, 2016 Allen would be a monster get. A guy who would come in next year and play a lot right away!! Quote
FredsSlacks Posted September 16, 2016 Report Posted September 16, 2016 Allen would be a monster get. A guy who would come in next year and play a lot right away!! would probably have to be ok with not starting until glynn graduates. Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted September 16, 2016 Report Posted September 16, 2016 See we are trying somethimg new on here, playing hard to get. Only had like 2 pages on Nana And we got him. So we doen't talk about a kid or act like we want him and boom he comes here. Red Don and colhusker 2 Quote

I know our roster has improved, but not to the point where a kid like this should illicit a collective yawn. I, for one, am very excited by the prospect of landing Allen! I think it's the opposite, in that despite we're now getting used to Rivals 150 guys taking visits on the reg, we also are somewhat realistic that - at this point at least - it looks like a bit of a long shot to actually land him. what happens if stewart and allen both wanted to commit saturday? Then the future of Nick Fuller becomes a little clearer? Quote

hhcmatt Posted September 16, 2016 Report Posted September 16, 2016 what happens if stewart and allen both wanted to commit saturday? I think you take both because it's not like we have some problem not having enough scholarships Quote

HB Posted September 16, 2016 Report Posted September 16, 2016 Saw Allen today on his recruiting visit. He and Miles watched a few points of the volleyball game. I'd say 6'1" is about right, if not a little inflated. He looked nervous, wasn't smiling--perhaps in awe of our awesomeness. So true story--they are standing in the corner of the arena, and one of the event staff geezers comes over and tells them they can't stand there. So they had to to go sit down. Miles just looked at him, like "you're kidding me, I'm Tim Freaking Miles, way to make me look good old man". Man, those folks like their rules! Hey Shawn, perhaps have them loosen up a bit, and have rules become merely guidelines when it involves your head basketball coach and a recruit. hhcmatt 1 Quote

Huskerpapa Posted September 18, 2016 Report Posted September 18, 2016 If the young man enjoys football, and enjoys meeting a NBA Championship player and coach, then perhaps he enjoyed his visit today Quote
huskerbaseball13 Posted September 18, 2016 Report Posted September 18, 2016 Not sure we land him or Stewart but couldn't have asked for a better atmosphere for them to experience Husker Nation Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk colhusker and Silverbacked1 2 Quote
jimmykc Posted September 18, 2016 Report Posted September 18, 2016 Allen, Stewart, and what other recruit were in Lincoln yesterday? From my vantage spot it looked like no one was enjoying the heat on the sidelines before the game which probably accounted for a seeming lack of enthusiasm. Nevertheless, the coaches and team were making a full court press effort with almost all in attendance (including Fuller). Nice to be in a situation for a change when the spots available for 2017 may be on a first come, first served basis. Quote

FWIW, the current members of the team were all having a blast down on the sidelines. Very loose and enjoying life. There's chemistry on the roster. The recruits were a little more uptight, which is to be expected some with mom and dad right there. Silverbacked1 and Red Don 2 Quote
Fullbacksympathy Posted September 21, 2016 Report Posted September 21, 2016 I really like this kid. He has a very similar skill set to Glynn--not quite the handles, but similar athleticism and a better outside shot. He's a true point guard and can definitely score from that position.
