royalfan Posted April 21, 2017 Report Posted April 21, 2017 I think we will get one or both of those grad transfer bigs that are coming this weekend. Quote

Would really like this teams chances to make the tournament if Morrow was still on the team but one thing I will give credit to Miles for is the talent hes brought. They had what? One 4* recruit in school history prior to him coming here? Again great get esepcially given the circumstances. Now just get us a little more front court help Tim! Losing Morrow obviously hurt...but, if we can get 20-25 minutes out of Jordy this upcoming year that will lessen the blow big time. Jordy is going to be a load to handle if he can just keep himself on the court. hhcmatt, Thattimeofyear4, mwm89 and 1 other 4 Quote
royalfan Posted April 21, 2017 Report Posted April 21, 2017 (edited) Can someone confirm that we now have 3 spots left? And can someone else explain why it would be a bad idea to take both grad transfer bigs and also Ernst with those three spots? Seems like that would be a great plan, as you have two options to help next year and Ernst for the long haul, while not tying up a scholarship for long with two of them. uneblinstu Posted April 21, 2017 Report Posted April 21, 2017 (edited) Or one grad transfer, Ernst and Chandler. Still think they want another sniper, too. Edited April 21, 2017 by uneblinstu Quote

Not horrible but if it were me I would take one of them and then take a chance on someone like the kid from Central. Then we have a couple ships next year for another PG and whatever else we need. royalfan Posted April 21, 2017 Report Posted April 21, 2017 Good point. I forgot about Chandler. I am not sure what our chances are of getting Ernst. I could live with both grad transfers and Chandler if we cannot get Ernst. If we can pick the correct grad transfer, I would like Ernst, grad and Chandler better also. This hinges on the coaches having a confident choice of grad transfer, and it may be tough as they are light years different in style which is why I don't hate getting both. Thattimeofyear4 1 Quote

Thattimeofyear4 Posted April 21, 2017 Report Posted April 21, 2017 I wish I knew for sure but for some reason I think the Dube kid would be good for coming off the bench didn't really know m7ch about the other kid but after seeing this I'm all aboard but the knee issue worries me https://youtu.be/A714QGfNS9Aquote post="188187" timestamp="1492798124" name="huskercwg" userid="64"] Oh please tell us more Wish I knew but I'm really liking the Dube kid for some reason.I wouldn't mind having him come of the bench when jordy gets in some foul trouble. I haven't had time to check out the Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk Quote
BirdsOnTheBat Posted April 21, 2017 Report Posted April 21, 2017 Okay, He say he is committed BUT, with this being the signing period, IS HE SIGNED????? Quote
FredsSlacks Posted April 21, 2017 Report Posted April 21, 2017 is it fair to say anton gill may be indirectly responsible for us getting both copeland and allen? Quote
HuskerCager Posted April 22, 2017 Report Posted April 22, 2017 Could some positive vibes be enough for either MJ or EM to reconsider their transfer plans? I know, it's unlikely, but Gallegos did it a couple of years ago. jason2486 1 Quote
busticket Posted April 22, 2017 Report Posted April 22, 2017 Man, just when it felt like Miles' program was taking on water faster than the Titanic he pulls a life raft out of his keister. I was at the point where I thought we may have to settle for all grad transfers with the uncertainty surrounding Miles' long term job status. I was shocked when I heard this news. All of a sudden I am now feeling kind of positive with our future backcourt coming in next year. Both kids look like they can stroke it from deep. When is the last time we had a 1 and a 2 who were (potentially) knock down shooters? Quote
Bugeaters1 Posted April 22, 2017 Report Posted April 22, 2017 All of you guys that are the sky is falling, just need to relax and let Miles do his job like he did today. Quote

Or like he did the last 3 years? its fair to have major doubts/concerns at this point. It's also fair to say that he did a great job today as well. Allen is a hell of a pickup. It doesn't erase the last few years though Quote

49r Posted April 22, 2017 Report Posted April 22, 2017 Relax, @nustudent We're all thinking it. The record is out there for everyone to see and it's painfully clear that it hasn't happened the way anyone has wanted it to. And yes, change will happen when it needs to. NOT when you or any of us thinks it should. We are just trying to give some positive vibes to the program here. Call it blind faith, call it delusion, call it what you want but realize that we as fans have a job...and that is to support those kids that go out there and play their guts out for us. They do it for us, for the school we love (and in some cases call our alma mater), they do it for themselves, and yes, they even do it for their coaches. What we can do is support them, come hell or high water, and the choice they made to play for all the reasons listed above. That means shutting out negative thoughts and give them a chance to prove us wrong. They at least deserve that, okay? Bringing the room down with constant jabs is not helping. Negativity breeds like vermin. Can we just please let it go? Thanks. Thattimeofyear4, Red Don, mwm89 and 1 other 4 Quote

He's done a good job bringing in guys. That can't be argued. But I think we've seen enough to stay balanced too. Supporting them and being irrational are not mutually exclusive. Rooting every game for a team does not mean you have to have a distorted view of what they actually are. I won't argue with anyone who says that we have the apparent pieces now to be a good team. Can't subscribe to the theory that it's a foregone conclusion though. Edited April 22, 2017 by nustudent AuroranHusker 1 Quote
