I agree...we are close.  A lot goes into being "close" though.  Yes, we need a big man that can play.  But there are a few intangible and tangible changes that need to occur as well.

I think last night was the first time I ever crossed a team off my pristine, written in ink bracket and had to go back and put in a different one. Northern Iowa/Texas A&M ruined the appearance of my primary bracket.

KU got hosed.  I hate to say it, but KU got hosed by the refs.  There was a lot of contact that was a foul going one direction and no-calls going the other.  Graham fouled out with 3 fouls that shouldn't have been whistled.  Too close of a game for the refs to step in and decide it.  And tell me how Arcidiacano was shooting on that play where he ended up getting 3 foul shots.

I agree.  I had Nova winning the game, but not that way.  That said, KU played not to lose, they played tight all night.

You have watched that all season long when the Huskers played. Inconsistent as hell.

I actually thought KU got some calls myself.  Which goes to show that depending on how you see the game, can be different.  Even after the Grahm foul, Mason clearly double dribbled when he hit the big 3 pointer late in the game.  Nobody mentioned it as it happened so fast, but he clearly put two hands on the ball as he was about to pass it, re-picked it up and then dribbled again.  I for one was happy to see KU lose.  I have NO sympathy for them not getting a "few calls" as they tend to get them all (at least through my eyes)

I had no dog in fight and I thought the game was officiated evenly.

Likewise. The dive for the ball was a bad call, but I thought KU benefited from a lot of the ticky tack earlier. There was complaining about Graham's fourth on a rebound, but he came from behind and clearly slapped the guy on the arm, then acted like it was an outrage. Didn't affect the play, so maybe it shouldn't have been called, but what's the ref supposed to do, wait and see or blow the whistle when it happened?

I think there's entirely too much complaining about refs. It's a tough job, these guys aren't trying to screw one team or the other. My complaint is when they lose control of the game to where the players don't know what they're supposed to do. That wasn't the case at all last night, though.

I didn't have a problem with the foul on the dive for the ball.  Nova kid lost it because Graham slid into him and knocked him over.  Even IF there is no foul call, after sliding on the floor he rolled over which should have been a travel so they lose ball at least.

On the replay it appeared he got his hand on the ball before crashing into the other guy, so a lot of people thought it was a scramble and shouldn't have been called. But watching it real time with no benefit of replay, I thought it was a foul too. Either way, it wasn't like KU got jobbed, imo. Their two leading scorers had stretches where they were terrible offensively. Good defense or bad luck, but it wasn't the officiating.

They didn't lose the game on it indeed.

Wow!  To have all four 1 seeds make it to the Regional Final round and the possibility of only 1 or maybe none of them make it to the Final Four is amazing!

You have to call that foul wher a guy dives and takes out another players legs....you have too....because, if he can't get it cleanly, it wasn't his to get....not calling that foul would be taking it away from the players and letting the refs decide it, imo.

'Cuse just abused UVa in the final 10 minutes. Wow. What a crazy year for the Orange. They were terrible early on, then Boeheim sat out a 9-game suspension. Somehow caught lightning in a bottle very late. Final Four bound as the 1st #10 seed ever to make it (the three prior double-digit seeds were all #11 seeds).

'Heels abused the Irish in the final 12 minutes. Only #1 seed in Houston. Prohibitive favorite to cut down the nets.
