Did you see the number 7220 at the free throw line. That is the elevation of Laramie. Frequent substitution are needed at that altitude if the body is not used to it.5 points -

It was a very good win but two things bothered me last night. First of all ever since we lost Allison W. for the year I have been concerned as to who would step up and take over the 3 position. With Maddie K. hurt we have three players that have an opportunity. Kendall M., Logan N. and Kendall Coley. Even though it has only been 2 regular games against easier competition no one in my mind has done so to this point. For example combined stats on those three for two games are 2 for 21 FG which is less than 10% including 1 for 15 from 3pt. 0 free throws shot and not very many rebounds. We need Maddie K. to get healthy ASAP. The other thing was the blown opportunity to take a time out when Wyoming was on a 10 point run in the second quarter. She admitted in her post game interview to that mistake. Not the first time that has happened.2 points -

It was nice to watch a game for free on the Mountain West Network. What a concept! This game bothered me, why do we take out players who are going well? Potts and White were our most effective players early and when they were out Wyoming caught up in the first half. Hake is a liability on defense though Wyoming was allowed to extend screens in half court offense. Alexis woke up in the 4th quarter after being a non factor other than rebounding. We are going to need Petrie to develop as the sub for Potts. She had a nice first half. Moriarity had some nice assists and defends well. Jaz was Jaz. Potts is rapidly becoming my favorite player. She savvy, tough and just knows how to play! White gives us one player who can beat her opponent off the drive. Need to have a great week to prepare for Creighton. The Jays will make open shots.2 points -

3 things... My preseason concern was replacing Issie. Potts has done it in one game. Best newbie we've had in years. The new asst. coaches have made a real impact in the way we play. Play much tougher defense. And the full court defense I really think the asst's had a lot to do with it. Markowski and Jaz have developed a real sense of chemistry... of what each other will do. And can be real smooth as a team. (Jazz and Issie had that last year.) Markowski team and game high 17 pts and about 13 re-bonds for a double -double. Potts 15 pts and 6-7 shooting And....... we needed a competitive game before we hit some tougher schedule.2 points -

So I’ve watched it twice and agree with the sloppy passing / turnover and poor defense for sure. What never stood out to me was guys playing hero ball. I mean it happens to every team every game at least a few times. Who did you see doing that? I know Fred wants Brice posting up so I’m not counting that. Just curious, maybe I missed a few.2 points -

This is a far more accurate post than your prior one. At the very least, that list significantly downplayed the importance of margin of victory. running up score at the end to win by 16 instead of 4 matters a lot.1 point -
Do we really have to “create” room anymore? The kids do that for us. We’ll have at least two guys bounce, and we probably won’t have to encourage them to do so. Such it is these days.1 point

I am certain altitude was in Coach Williams mind with her substitution pattern. However, I have been a constant critic of her penchant for substituting just because it’s in the rotation. I can recall several times when Leigha Brown was going great and she was taken out. Milk the hot hand.1 point -
Spent a week in Colo this fall in a cabin at 9,200 ft. Not much difference than Laramie. (been there too) You can feel it in breathing...especially if active. Takes a couple of days there to begin to get acclimated.1 point

Oregon St survived Troy at home in double OT. I think we blow their doors off in what will be a home game for us in South Dakota and our first real test is against a Duquesne team that looks quite good.1 point -
Big 10 has to get their shit together right now. After you get into league play, the results are what the results are and the league is as good as the early seaoson results are. The computers don't understand that we have the best conference of coaches in the land and teams get better throughout the season. They assume all teams get better at the same rate. These early season struggles are REALLY bad for us who need this to be an 8 bid type of league.1 point

If Nebraska WINS the B1G Conference, (possible not probable) they’d have to take us, right? I’ve never clung to this notion of winning A game in the Tournament. What if we’re the Best Team in a So/So B1G & come out of the weeds ala ‘91 & really make a run at this thing? I can’t wait to see what happens…1 point -

Margin of victory matters a lot. Chuck is simply incorrect suggesting that it does not make any difference.1 point -

I think you look at transfers or juco bigs. They tend to be a bit more battle tested and you sort of know what they can do at a higher level than high-school. Oftentimes a big in high school plays against smaller or lesser competition.1 point -

Good or great passing teams can certainly beat it with quick passes around the horn, especially resulting in tough to get to the corner. Illinois game at home last year comes to mind. They really had the ball popping and your rotations just cannot get there when that happens. All in all though, I love the scheme. We don't give up very many easy paint points, which I am very fond of, especially since the time they moved the 3 point line back a good bit.1 point -
