That is so cool that Craig Smith is attending as well. Pretty stand up guy and show he cares about he players even if he isn't here anymore.5 points -
I am hoping they worked the kid out and liked what they saw. He's a kid who excelled in class D in Michigan (lowest class) and then transferred to Arizona for his senior year to improve his play/stock. The school he tried to transfer to didn't allow him to play and he had to go to some other academy...I'm not sure of the competition there. His move backfired and he went from under the radar to really under the radar. Here is a quote from a Bulter message board from 2012 when they were tracking him He's a guy who seemed to be gathering B1G interest and then just dropped off the face of the earth. Was is specifically because of the move? Was it something else? He did get suspended his junior year of HS for a lot of games from some reason before being re-instated and leading the team to the state title. Physically he seems like a less athletic Tarin Smith but maybe a bit quicker. Is he finally a combo guard that actually slants more PG than SG? It seems like Bakari could be a replacement for Smith who was a replacement for Hawkins. If we do sign him, will be be an upgrade over Smith like Smith was over Hawkins? Is he the next in a line of last minute pickups that we need to replace next year? I think we found a guy everyone else forgot about. Hopefully there wasn't a specific reason other than poor timing and transfers that led to him being forgotten. Dimes if I came across as saying the coaches needed to offer please don't think that is what I said. I am hoping, that after talking with the young man and I am guessing working him out he met the requirements they were looking for to offer. I hope like hell this is just not a Band-Aid that we will need to replace again next year. It's time to have a roster that is full of available scholarships and with kids that can help (even if it's pushing the kids playing to make them better).2 points

Bo Ryan doesn't have the time to be unimpressed by pressers. Bo Ryan is a good coach & all, but he whines during a game as much as anyone. Guess it works 60% of the time, every time. Nice guys don't get calls2 points

I think the reason is mostly because they wanted to get out and evaluate players. Its why you saw Edwards here on a Thursday and Friday so they could spend Saturday and Sunday checking players out. There were two big tournaments going on this weekend and know for sure Miles was at one of them. I think it all depends on when the game and these tournaments fall on a map. The coaches can't pass up the opportunity to see 100's of kids.2 points -
2015 PG Bakari Evelyn -> Nebraska -> Valparaiso -> Iowa

Normy, maybe the coaches are anticipating another slot opening up very, very soon (which may happen sooner than hoped for)?? Even with the way it is today, I think the PG spot is a position of need. Guard play is what typically rules in college basketball. Glynn Watson can't carry the load for the next 4 years (yes, Benny will be around for one more season). I really like that the coaches are trying to find a good PG to complement Glynn & the two of 'em can duke it out, so to speak, for the next several years.1 point -

He'd make the all-name team, hopefully that wouldn't be his only claim to fame (if he's) at NU.1 point -

My buddy is a big K-State fan so I watched a lot of their games this year. While Malek didn't much when he did I didn't see anything to impressive. I do believe he has a high ceiling but will be interesting if he actually reaches it.1 point -

I'm guessing Edwards could have attended the spring game if he wanted to. Probably not that important for a basketball recruit to watch a football scrimmage.1 point -

Here is the obituary. http://www.galvnews.com/obituaries/article_fd8069be-e06a-11e4-bdf5-6f21d84fa9da.html It is nice they acknowledged the Cornhuskers. The coaches attending just shows the regard they have for Terran. Interestingly, all of the (male) children, and all the grandchildren (but one) have names starting with 'T.'1 point

49r and Dimes: I stand in awe of your literary prowess. However any appreciation must be tempered by the sleep deprivation elicited by me watching every single pitch of the 7+ hour, 19 inning Red Sox/Yankee marathon last night. Never has an extremely shallow sacrifice fly been celebrated more vigorously. This feat may well represent the crowning achievement of my legendary sports viewing career and qualify me for the Sportsfan Hall of Fame.1 point

Gozer the Traveller, he will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldronaii, the Traveller came as a large and moving Torb! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the Meketrex Supplicants they chose a new form for him... that of a Giant Sloar! many Shubs and Zulls knew what it was to be Creaned in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you.1 point

The first thing they need to address is, how can you eliminate all the negativity that seems to surround the sport. It's that loud uneducated voice and you hear it all the time. Can't imagine what it would be like if there wasn't a thing called political correctness. It happens every where and it's almost always someone with a podium who hasn't watched a game for many years but yet has an opinion that was formed some 40+ years ago. And it's not just the males that spew it, females are just as guilty. The Ticket here in Lincoln is one of the worst. Adrian Fiala said just a couple months ago "that women who played women's college basketball 10 years ago couldn't even dribble, it's come a long way since then but it's still hard to watch". The girl on the same station who does 4 downs said she can't stand to watch women's basketball just last week. I would question either one of those two just exactly when did you last see a women's college basketball game. Both would most likely answer "they can't remember" but yet, both felt it necessary to comment on it negatively. Seriously doubt though the stigma of "it's girl's playing basketball" will ever go away. But if they could some how diminish that view it sure would help.-1 points -

Row6Seat10, i am really not sure it will go away (at least not in my lifetime). many of my acquaintances can't stand females playing basketball. one of my old buddies, who is a head track coach at the DI level truly believes females were not built to play the game of basketball. yet, his one daughter played hs basketball, volleyball, and track/field. (he stated he really sweat it out watching her play basketball, praying for no injury so she could continue her vb goals) and she now plays volleyball at the DI level. he doesn't seem to have a problem with girls competing in volleyball and track & field. so, whatever.-1 points
