  1. I actually miss Colorado fans. The only people I know filled with both pot and hate.

  2. If the crowd starts the "one more year chant", Petteway will wonder who the hell Chant is. He might feel slighted, graduate and then transfer to one of the CU schools. To what do we owe the honor of such a prolific outburst of posts today, cip? I'm still on a high from the Ringo and friends concert Sunday night. It was kick ass! That, and my wife forgot to lock up her computer at Conlee's. (I'm gonna hack her facebook account, too.)

  6. Recruits don't pick a school just based on shoe affiliation.....but they might eliminate a school based on shoe affiliation. Adidas schools like Louisville and Kansas are still going to get top recruits because of their tradition. But for schools like us that have no tradition, it gives recruits another reason to eliminate us from their list.

  7. Who did we beat out for Glynn Watson? Creighton - Nike Purdue - Nike Tennessee - Nike Iowa - Nike West Virginia - Nike Who did we beat out for Ed Morrow? Creighton - Nike Iowa - Nike Minnesota - Nike Florida St - Nike SMU - Nike Who did we beat out for Andrew White III? Maryland - Under Armour Richmond - no sponsorship deal as far as I can tell but they wear Nike uniforms Notre Dame - Adidas Wake Forest - Nike Miami - Nike Florida St - Nike It has more to do with coincidence than anything, seeing as how there are many more schools with shoe contracts with Nike than Adidas, we're going to lose out to/beat out mostly Nike schools. FWIW, Baylor is an Adidas school for hoops: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Adidas_sponsorships#Colleges_and_Universities

  9. Here's a link to the Louisville Rivals article on the subject. Here is a blurb from the article: "I don't like not being able to recruit a kid... because of shoe affiliation," Pitino said. "We need to get shoe companies out of their lives." Pitino said he'd like to see more parental involvement and less involvement from AAU coaches or programs who are directly paid by shoe companies like Nike, Adidas and Under Armor.

  10. Hes just mad a kid committed to him and was told not so fast my friend by his AAU coach thats nike sponsored it doesnt mean anything against the company of Adidas itself. It sucks they have the influence on these kids.

    Diamondhead Classic 2014

So I venture over to AllBuffs.com from time to time to get caught up on the delusion they have going on over there (they actually like to consider themselves some kind of hoops elite now that they've come close to duplicating what we had here during the Danny Nee era)...and this week they've been going over their non-con schedules and doing in-depth analysis on all of the teams on their schedule. Today they did the Diamond Head Classic teams, check out the bit on Nebraska: http://www.allbuffs.com/showthread.php/101625-AllBuffs-Season-Preview-The-Diamond-Head-Classic Pretty good stuff if you ask me.

  13. Do we start the "One more year chant" on senior night like we did for Lue at his last home game his junior year?

  16. I called the ticket office this morning for an update on tickets. They said that single-game ticket availability will be very few and far between - definitely more so than last year. They are finalizing that process and if they do go on sale, it will be around October 29. And if they do have some, it sounded like most tickets available would be singles. Also, they will be sending season tickets in the mail around October 23.

  17. "That's So Raven" was a comedy series on Disney Channel about 10 years ago (I'm sure you can find re-runs if you really want to) starring Raven Symone as ... Raven. I know, it's an obscure cultural reference. I'm good for obscure references from time to time. http://disneychannel.disney.com/thats-so-raven

  18. I'm going to venture a guess that we see Petteway's offensive efficiency increase this year. His shooting percentages all go up, in particular, his 3 point percentage. The article eluded to it, the fact that some of his numbers suffered because of the offensive load he shouldered last year. I think we see some help from additional offensive weapons this year, and as a result, Petteway will be way more efficient.

  19. Snipes is good eat'n, at least that is what my country cousins told me. But we didn't catch none, and I stood in that corn field for a good three hours just ahold that burlap bag.

  23. Norm Peterson

    Rules is rules.

And I listened to the audio of the conference call when Pelini was asked the question and he wasn't bitching or whining about it like a Bill Snyder would have back in the day. He just made very brief reference to it as an explanation (and if you watch the above video, it's hard to argue that it didn't have some affect -- as I'm sure was intended) of what happened and how he was going to ask the league office to review it. Nobody was whining. Nobody was making excuses. Something happened that we had some snaps that the QB wasn't ready for. Whatever happened, there's going to be an explanation for it and when the coach gives the explanation, the only people who would jump all over the coach for answering a question is someone who hates the coach or just wants to be an ass.

  24. Well, if that's the case, then I see him returning for his senior year, at which time, we're going to be killer good. Regardless of whether Terran is back in 2015, our program comes out a winner. If he returns, we get another year of his productivity. If he leaves, our coaches can start telling recruits that players at Nebraska leave early for the NBA. Well, one anyway.

  26. Have we ever landed a recruit that worked with Adam Barnes? Just asking. It seems like they always end up elsewhere.
