I saw Sek throw the ball at Standhardinger's head one day in practice. Christian gave Ubel's jewels a more than playful tap during a scrimmage and Sek went after him and had to be pulled back. Doc threw Christian out of practice for it. Needless to say, it was one of the more exciting days of watching practice and something I wasn't sure I could post here at the time. I sure it is ok now.

I was surprised to see he already gave an on camera response to this from some local news station. It seems like he was faking getting chocked up when he was talking, I haven't seen him talk enough to say that is for sure though.

  4. I think we need to keep things in check. The Big 10 is still vicious....even with Davis....the NCAA is a big jump. What Davis probably does for us is turn us from a .500/CBI type team to a mid-level NIT type team. He'd certainly make us better but the NCAA is still a huge jump for a group with a bunch of unknowns.

  5. Hugh, Norm, CWG, Jimmy and many other of the longtime followers: Does this remind you at all of Tony Farmer? He had played at NU with San Jose State while in the Ameritas Classic. I remember him telling me that's how he ended up in Lincoln. He knew the team and Danny was very familiar with him to offer when he wanted out. Could we (knock on wood) see history repeating?

  6. Okay but I will have to see a picture of him beside McDermette first before I even look at him.

  7. I've seen a picture of them standing next to eachother, but McDermott was standing on his toes, so it is hard to tell

Here is the story Washut posted though: http://collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/04/02/ricky-tarrant-transferring-from-tulane-2/ He graduated from Tulane. Does that mean he can play right away?

  11. Well we have 7 new guys coming in as of now. 8 counting Josh or Sai. We are going to be much more competitive than last year. Agreed 100%. But can Miles convince a potential transfer of that? I am personally convinced that if we got Josh, there's a great chance we could make the tournament. I am not sure what Josh is trying to achieve in transferring, but I doubt there is a BCS team that could offer more playing time than Nebraska. And you can also throw in the arena, facilities, and the chance to make history. I have to think adding Josh would sell a lot of season tickets for this coming year. I would be hopeful... but far from convinced. We would be relying almost entirely on unknown quantities - a number of which would be freshman. And even if I were convinced (not that it matters), it's much easier to convince someone who has an interest in the program and has been following our recruiting process/redshirts than someone who is looking for a school to compete at. I'm just saying "Ya... we finished 10th and don't return much from last year's team... BUT we have a couple of 3* recruits, a 2* recruit AND some redshirts that sat out last year after doing next to nothing at their previous schools." While I believe those guys will be good, I'm trying to look at the perspective of an outsider who needs convincing. Tai Webster is a 4* btw...

  12. Why are we having in depth convo about a Creighton players height in this (or any) thread?? To the point that we've posted multiple pictures (some zoomed in) of Creighton players??

  13. Lincoln Speaking in the "Lincoln" movie: "A compass, I learnt when I was surveying, it'll... it'll point you True North from where you're standing, but it's got no advice about the swamps and deserts and chasms that you'll encounter along the way. If in pursuit of your destination, you plunge ahead, heedless of obstacles, and achieve nothing more than to sink in a swamp... What's the use of knowing True North?" Carl von Clausewitz in talking about theories of war defined friction as "the disparity between the ideal performance of units, organisation or systems and their actual performance in real world scenarios" One can paint ideal scenarios but the real genius of leadership is what is done when the ideal is bumped off line. The test of Miles won't be whether he balances his classes, it will be how he manages the frictions of the program. He seems to have a good track record.

  15. Well he's not 6'10", 265 lbs, but Wally Judge would be a nice get. I posted this in another thread, but I thought maybe it would fit here too. Wally Judge, F, RS Junior, 6'9", 250 lbs Second-year junior transfer student...McDonald’s High School All-America selection who played two seasons at Kansas State…Participated in all team activities, but did not compete in games in 2011-12 under NCAA transfer guidelines…Big time athlete who can put the ball on the floor and also shoot it from 15 to 17 feet…Has the ability to guard three positions...Finishes at the rim with tremendous explosion. 16. I agree that this would be a huge "get" for the Huskers but did I miss something that said we have a chance to get this guy other than a tweet that said we might go after him? Does our staff have any connections here, or is it more just wishful thinking and speculation? Not to be a buzz kill but why us?

  19. In a way, it almost pisses me off that Washut tweeted about this. It's almost too tantalyzing to think about the possibilities for next year with a kid like this added to our roster. If we aren't really in the mix for him, then it's cruel to us long-suffering Husker hoops fans to even bring it up. That's like saying, "Don't be surprised if Nebraska doesn't try to get involved with every 5-star in the 2015 recruiting class." As if. So, Robin, there better be something to this. You better not be throwing this random notion out there like it has legs.

  23. From the ESPN article: "Enfield's team earned the nickname "Dunk City" for its spectacular dunks and alley-oops. The Eagles scored 70 or more points 25 times this season, and ranked 16th nationally in steals with 8.9 per game." For Runza's sake, good thing this guy wasn't such a big deal last choach hiring season...
