Can I make my score prediction now? I forgot till just now. Good road win.

Report reply millerhusker 2,654 Posted yesterday at 02:45 AM Brice and Juwan were awesome tonight. Rollie's reliability was huge with Sam, Connor and Ahron all struggling offensively in this one. I have no idea how that Oregon team beat Alabama, San Diego St and Texas A&M on neutral courts. Quote Share this comment
Report reply MJW82 101 Posted yesterday at 02:46 AM I did not make it home in time to catch anything but the last few seconds but as a Husker Hoops fan getting a ranked road win after sitting in Allen Fieldhouse earlier and getting to hear another team do their chant after years of hearing Rock Chalk in the BDSC was a pretty good day BjoeHusker, Silverbacked1, throwback and 1 other 1 1 2 Quote Share this comment

Report reply demone 419 Posted yesterday at 03:00 AM Obviously a solid & much needed win. Really hard to figure out how the defense can look so much better these past 2 games vs. the previous 4-6. The rotations, the hard doubles & then closeouts on 3pt shooters…I mean, I don’t think Oregon is a great team, but we made life pretty difficult for them. Why does it seem so night/day different? millerhusker 1 Quote Share this comment

That is a good example of how the +/- thing doesn't make sense as a game stat. Juwan was a huge positive factor in this win. There are too many other factors can impact =/- in that small of a sample size. You can use it over several games to make points - but for a single game it doesn't mean much. It's a make-or-miss proposition. If the other team makes 'em, then we get beat. Tonight we were efficient at the rim & made enough FTs to overcome the 4-23 on threes. And our D was just good enough to get it done on the road. Need to get this momentum rollin'! GBR!!! Quote Share this comment
Report reply Navin R. Johnson 2,118 Posted yesterday at 03:09 AM (edited) Amazing winning this game as poorly as we shot from three. I was kind of hoping they would continue to press us and give us a chance to get layups. I also didn't realize that being vertical on defense is not a foul, unless the home team is down and it is late in the game. Officials love to call the and one on ghost fouls late. Report reply HuskerBB 938 Posted yesterday at 03:16 AM Big win. Gives us a chance to get another road win Wednesday to get back even for the two home losses. That would be on pace for 10-10 in the conference which gets us in the tourney for sure. Would never have thought we could win at Oregon going 4-23 from 3 - particularly missing a number of good looks. Morgan and Gary both finished really well around the rim which helped make up for the poor outside shooting. Berke did not have a big stat game but he battled hard and other than not shooting great did not make mistakes. Meah also gave us some good minutes in the 1st half when we needed them. I have been one down on Rollie at times - but he was money tonight with some big shots when we really needed them. If he keeps contributing on offense we might finish pretty strong. All that said: A. Juwan Gary may well be one of my top 10 favorite huskers (and my Husker fandom goes back to the late 1960's.) He really plays with effort and is a great leader. Not the most skilled player - but he gets the most out of his ability and comes up big at big times. His arrival (along with Emmanuel Bandoumel) a couple years ago really flipped the culture of this program when it was in a very bad place. B. Brice Williams deserves to be 1st team all-conference. I know there are some very talented players in this conference - but I don't think there is anyone more important to their team and given our limited offensive threats on this team he just has to battle extra hard every game. I hope he gets some recognition for that at the end of the year. Report reply hskr4life 11,758 Posted yesterday at 03:20 AM We'll never lose a game if Bryce can get his 28 point, 7 board, 6 assist line that he did tonight. Still had 3 TO's. But his play completely offset that tonight. roscoe, basketballjones and BjoeHusker 2 1 Quote Share this comment

Report reply throwback 3,635 Posted yesterday at 03:29 AM Worster was so good tonight on both ends - played so much more confidently. Offensively, I'd imagine he took what Illinois did to him personally & he decided to flip the script. Pretty amazing turnaround. That Brice dunk at the end of the half and then getting a stop was so important to steal some of UO's momentum going into the break. Report reply roscoe 428 Posted yesterday at 03:42 AM (edited) Also noticed Sam with 37 minutes and Connor only had 11 minutes of playing time. Didn't get to watch very much but did catch some of 2nd half on radio. Jake brought up that some switching led to Connor trying to block out a 6'9" opponent and he was at huge disadvantage. Hopefully he bounces back against UW. Edited yesterday at 03:42 AM by roscoe Quote Share this comment
