WBB: Game #26 @ Ohio State

This game may well rest on our defense. OSU  has several scorers besides Mitchell. They can hit 3's. High scoring team, average about 85. If we can be real competitive and hold them in the 70's or lower, it gives us a good chance. It will mean close lockdown defense by Cincore, and Nat, .....and well...everyone.

Their center is a shot blocker, and accurate shooter.  OSU usually doesn't run many set plays, rather kind of just free lance, with MItchell everywhere. Generally in the same mold as Banham (sp) of Minn. Layups, 3's, short jumpers, whatever.

Unfortunately we play there. It'll be a tough one.

They basically run 4 guards and a 1 post.  I wonder who A. Havers will guard?

probably not a good match for allie. most likely will reach a point where coach yori is gonna have to try some different things. 

i would like to see huskers slow down the possessions. use as much shot clock as possible on the offensive end. don't want to try and get in a track meet with osu. especially at osu.

Agree on the track meet.  If Minnesota guards give us trouble what will happen against the faster guards from O.ST.

Every once in a while when nobody thinks you have a chance a big upset happens.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Connie has been using Cincore more, and Burns too. Cincore has simply improved in several ways, can do more.  Burns looks much more healthy. Maddie healthier too......so wouldn't be a bit surprised to see more subbing. 

Keep people fresher.....we haven't been able to for a while, to have that luxury. And it can't come to soon as we hit the toughest stretch.... of needed wins, and the B1G tourney, and even farther.

Some really lazy passes. Noticed when Jas was subbed out we went from being down 6 to being down 16. Letting them have lots of 3s. I don't get how they can shoot 3s over Allie.

We are giving them way too much room to shoot, and we are lacking hustle. Hopefully they come out with some fire in the second half. It's looking too easy for Ohio State.

Gotta shore up the man to man defense. Can't believe they keep sagging off players letting them take wide open shots.

Said it before, but.....We, for what ever reason, don't contest shots defensively. I suppose the thinking is you don't give up fouls,..and points ....but...we're giving the game away like Minn...and others.

Never should have been in a zone..early. We don't play it hardly ever, and we aren't good at covering in a given zone we don't ever play or apparently practice.

And...we're shooting poorly. Maddie just got schooled

I don't think Theriot's problem is related to attitude.She's not real fleet-of-foot to begin with,couple that with the well documented fact that she continues to battle lower leg/ankle problems and she's facing guards that are extremely quick and athletic.

I hate to say it,but IMO we are getting out-coached by a wide margin.Let them have wide open looks from 3-pt range and let Havers inbounds the ball.These 2 things alone have cost us probably 20+ points.

Also,does anyone work with our bigs on blocking-out? Seems like they are frequently in bad position to get a rebound. 

Does the head coach at OSU look right? Like bad plastic surgery?

McGuff is just a really strange looking dude. Almost comic book-like.

When Smallwood (sp) left ...seemly so did our defense.  Not sure who on staff is supposed to be the defensive guru ...but....

Even OSU subs are playing decent defense.

And I'm thinking Burns should as well. Much more hustle from her.
