I see a player on the court that was better than Jalen Bradley, who I think should have been given a scholarship to NU. I still stand by that. JB won't ever be a standout, but he is a capable shooter, something this team could have certainly used the past couple of years. He would have had a role. He shot 40% from 3 this year, which would have been second on the team.

Wingett has similar scoring ability but does it at six inches taller and can play above the rim. I know people will balk at the comparison, different positions and yada, yada yada...whatever.

And I get the hesitation, but this is a kid that I think would be worth the gamble.

I am a Bradley fan but no way he would be playing for NE. I know we need shooters but he is just not athletic enough. He was never going to play at UNO. He can not guard anyone and would struggle to get open looks at high D1. He found a good spot and is doing well off the bench for a low level D1 school.

If Bradley couldn't defend at a local Y, I don't know how he'd do it in D1. Plus, any d1 coach with proper scouting would understand he is a spot shooter and would defend accordingly. That said, a good shooter for low level D1.

I thought the Jalen Bradley of Oral Roberts played fairly well in the final home game for UNO.  Seems like the perfect fit for JB.

I went to that one.  I agree that he is in the right place.  Surprisingly, UNO did a good job of defending him.

ORU is a great spot for him, I agree. But I think with a couple, three years of NU's S/C program and coaching, I think he could have developed into a role here.

Nebraska can't waste scholarships on guys, not saying it would be a waste, but you don't know what you get with him. I think you need to see these kids play high level ball. Look at Chang playing with MoKan, that's perfect.

Chang by far has the most upside. I don't know if I would call him lazy, he isn't physical.

I don't think Papio uses him ver very. I would want him going to basket more and pulling bigs out. If he catches high post, it's all over but the showers.

I agree that Papio doesn't use him very well.

That is pretty awesome!

Is it fair to assume that Wingett is a cross country runner like a lot of his teammates? He has a runners frame for sure, with some of the skinniest arms I've ever seen. He's going to need to add a lot of mass to see the court at the high end of d1.

I prefer to compare his frame to Kevin Durant, who seems competitive in the NBA despite his skinny arms. ☺

I think he could develop nicely and benefit greatly if we get him and redshirt him. But wasn't there some issue where Winnebago wouldn't release his transcripts? That is going to be a problem if that is still the case. I think I read that somewhere, just don't recall where it was...

Seriously, what does he weigh? Is he 6'7" and 135? He looks very under-fed.

I'd say he's about 160, but I've never been a professional weight guesser at a carnival
