I know comparative scores don't always work out.  We gave Iowa a game losing by only 11 on the road.  Even had it down to 8 late in the game. They just went into Michigan State and destroyed them, the game was never in doubt.

I'll be making the drive west from The Ann Arbor area for the game vs MSU. I was good luck last time I went so I'm hoping I can be good luck this time too ;)

I thought we'd go 1-5.

We're currently 2-0.

I'm not disappointed.

We might go 4-2.

That would kick a little ass.

3-3 is damn near guaranteed (I'm confident in that, considering Rutgers is on the sked).

I'm not taking anything for granted but Saturday should be a lot of fun!

...and just because we don't have a Purdue pre-game thread up yet, I'll just put this here...

Kendall Stephens to Miss Second Straight Game - Hammer and Rails

http://www.hammerandrails.com/2016/1/26/10835028/kendall-stephens-absent-purdue-minnesota

Stephens continues to deal with the after effects of losing one of his closest friends, and asked to not travel to Iowa on Sunday. It looks like he is continuing to deal with it and he will not be in Minneapolis when Purdue faces Minnesota on Wednesday night.

Stephens recently saw his minutes drop off, a he played a season low five minutes against Ohio State and just nine minutes in the win over Penn State. he is Purdue's leading three-point shooter with 37 made threes in 115 attempts. Coach Painter has gone on record as saying he does not know when, or if, Stephens will return this season.

Naturally, we're all thinking of Kendall here. By all accounts he is a great kid and this has to be a tough burden for him. We're pulling for you, Kendall. Get your head in the right place, as that is much more important than basketball.

Some of the intangibles seem to be working our way on Wednesday:

1) We have an extra day off to prepare for Maryland

2) Maryland has to travel back home from this afternoon's game before heading back on the road for Wednesday.

3) Snowmageden might interupt Maryland's travel to Lincoln.  Let's hope for a 12 hour layover in Chicago, followed by a safe, 3:30PM arrival in Lincoln for the 7:30 game.
