Fullbacksympathy Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 This kid could have a legitimate shot give us minutes in the offseason. He'll have a B1G PF body. Quote

khoock Posted May 9, 2016 Report Posted May 9, 2016 Is Strom playing football or basketball at the next level? https://twitter.com/NateClouse/status/729714947433762817 I don't believe he has decided yet. Quote
Navin R. Johnson Posted May 9, 2016 Author Report Posted May 9, 2016 He has been getting higher level looks for football as far as BCS schools go, of course it's a little different comparing 13 scholarships for basketball teams compared to 65 or what ever it is for football but I'm guessing a lot will depend on this summer's tournaments and camps. From what I hear he likes basketball a little more but I think he could play either sport. It just depends on the offers he receives. I think if NU offers in basketball he would be a Husker. KarlHessEatMy.... Posted May 9, 2016 Report Posted May 9, 2016 I was in Norfolk for my cousins graduation party this last weekend. He came in and to me he looks more like a basketball player right now. But he has the body to be a pretty big Football player after hitting the weights. My cousin said that UCLA was in just recently looking at him for Football. Quote
bobcat402 Posted May 9, 2016 Report Posted May 9, 2016 I think football might be the better sport for him, giving the shift to big, tall tight ends, or if he can pack on some good weight, agile Left/Right Tackle. But maybe some schools lets him do both somehow Quote
Navin R. Johnson Posted May 9, 2016 Author Report Posted May 9, 2016 It could also come down to the position schools want him to play. Off tackle vs Tight End and possibly a 4 vs a 5 in basketball. Quote
Art Vandalay Posted May 9, 2016 Report Posted May 9, 2016 For what it is worth, I have heard that football would be his best sport if he decided to commit but he prefers basketball. He is a big bodied kid who I think could be a great OT as he has real nice feet and great hands. He is just not that explosive of an athlete as of now. He is not a post in college for hoops at all. Would be a stretch 4 guy as he can shoot it but really needs to get quicker in my opinion. basketballjones 1 Quote
bobcat402 Posted May 10, 2016 Report Posted May 10, 2016 I hope he has a good support network that can nudge him to the right area, hate to see talent opportunity wasted Quote
khoock Posted May 10, 2016 Report Posted May 10, 2016 I hope he chooses whichever sport he loves the most, regardless if it would be his most successful one or not. basketballjones and jaimes2000 2 Quote
Navin R. Johnson Posted May 10, 2016 Author Report Posted May 10, 2016 Norfolk' s head basketball coach Ben Ries did resign to take the AD position. Quote
HuskerCager Posted July 9, 2016 Report Posted July 9, 2016 Wow. Vermont must really want him, to have offered him 8 times. Silverbacked1 1 Quote
busticket Posted July 9, 2016 Report Posted July 9, 2016 You know, kids always phrase it that way when talking about their latest offer on Twitter, yet the joke never gets old for me. I guess I am easily amused, or perhaps sophomoric. Quote
atskooc Posted July 11, 2016 Report Posted July 11, 2016 I believe the semicolon history of HHC started with a comment/joke of the same manner. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted July 11, 2016 Report Posted July 11, 2016 I believe the semicolon history of HHC started with a comment/joke of the same manner. And then it got funnier when someone said he could fix the ambiguity with a semicolon. And funnier still when you informed the person that, no, you really can't. And then they said, well, are you an English teacher? atskooc 1 Quote

The summer tales of HHC never cease to amaze; stories on this site literally are a juxtaposition. atskooc 1 Quote
Red Don Posted July 11, 2016 Report Posted July 11, 2016 Then somehow Trevor Menke's name came up; he was an honors student and knows how to use one, y'know! atskooc 1 Quote
atskooc Posted July 11, 2016 Report Posted July 11, 2016 Trevor Menke's name has never appeared enough on this board. Shame. Red Don 1 Quote
busticket Posted July 16, 2016 Report Posted July 16, 2016 Strom is one I wonder why UNO has not offered yet. I believe he has made a visit there. He shoots the three at a nice clip; I think the way UNO plays would be a good fits for both. I don't know if he is athletic as Mike Rostampour was for the Mavs but I think Logan is a better perimeter threat. He already has two or three Summit offers. I'd hate to see the Mavs miss out. Quote

busticket Posted July 16, 2016 Report Posted July 16, 2016 I may have missed something on this one....is it because of football? Quote
basketballjones Posted August 1, 2016 Report Posted August 1, 2016 Haven't seen much news posted about this young man lately but he recently decided basketball is his sport in college and is getting blown up by good mid major offers. South Dakota just offered.... IMO, he and Jacobsen or not very similar as some have suggested. Jacobsen is a much better athlete, while Strom shoots it better (potentially). Who Strom reminds me of is my former favorite Husker - Andrew Drevo. Whether that fandom was ironic or not is still up to debate. But anyways, Jacobsen and Morrow will be juniors when Strom would be a freshman. I think he'd make a nice combo with Jordy as he anchors down low, and Strom stretches the floor. He also has a big, thick frame, that would help him guard bigger guys. AuroranHusker and hhcmatt 2 Quote
