TheKamdyMan Posted January 7, 2015 Report Posted January 7, 2015 Dont we already have the best from down under in the 2013 class, Tai Webster. I just dont think the talent is that good or other colleges would of offered him to and only LSU has shown interest but I dont think he had a offer from them Tai was not the best player from down under. He was a 3 star recruit on ESPN and 247 just like Josiah Moore, Corey Hilliard, Nate Hawkins etc. How are those guys doing for NU this year....... One guy said Tai was amazing and we took it as gospel because we wanted to believe it so badly. He had MANY other offers than LSU and NU, they were just the final 2 because of the Aussie coach connection. Silverbacked1 1 Quote
golfer3 Posted January 7, 2015 Report Posted January 7, 2015 The future of Nebraska basketball is Smith, Marrow and Watson. Maybe White has something to offer, but Im not buying him yet just because he transfers from KU. McVeigh is a question mark. Hope Agau doesnt set foot on campus, Im guessing there is more to him after his suspension last year. If next season's recruiting is half as good as this one we are well on our way. Quote
AuroranHusker Posted January 7, 2015 Report Posted January 7, 2015 If he's truly the best Australian in this class, it's a good day to be NU with this Down Under commit! GBR He's not the best Australian in the class. Ben Simmons is I think people mean hes the best thats not playing in the US currently. Yes, best of those that are presently in Australia... Quote

In my book, AW-III is easily the best prospect that Miles has signed, the only caveat is that he has only 2 years remaining... Red Don 1 Quote
jimmykc Posted January 7, 2015 Report Posted January 7, 2015 I'm waiting until Fran Fraschilla weighs in on Jack. And by the way, I haven't heard much from Fran this year. Quote
lanigan123 Posted January 7, 2015 Report Posted January 7, 2015 On his visit he hit 14 of his first 15 3's. We will see the biggest jump yet next year in terms of the program turning to a more stable footing. Love this class. Quote

Thank goodness. Still need a big. We see what disappointing seasons look like when you have Leslee and Moses on the bench with injuries. They're both seniors, though, and neither will be back next year. So, in order not to have a disappointing season next year, we have to find someone who can do what they weren't able to do this year. The pickins appear to be slim. Quote
Handy Johnson Posted January 7, 2015 Report Posted January 7, 2015 Here's hoping Hammonds blossoms into a combination of Bill Johnson and Derrick Chandler all rolled into one... Quote

I'd love a senior transfer or a juco big man, but that'd be the cherry on top of a stellar class. Quote

Andrew White the III will be damn good for NU and you can mark that down. AWIII is a very talented basketball player that can shoot it from 3 as well. We will love White. Red Don 1 Quote
hhcmatt Posted January 8, 2015 Report Posted January 8, 2015 Dont we already have the best from down under in the 2013 class, Tai Webster. I just dont think the talent is that good or other colleges would of offered him to and only LSU has shown interest but I dont think he had a offer from them LSU and Nebraska have assistant coaches that are Australian. I'd assume that has a huge role in the small school choice. Can anyone else name another Power 5 type school with an Australian coach? There very well might be several but probably not too many. Just because he's from down under and is coming here doesn't make him Tai Webster just like it doesn't make him Alec Maric. However, I would say the risk factor is higher than a transfer or high school kid. (International and JUCOs = schnapps) Quote
Norm Peterson Posted January 8, 2015 Report Posted January 8, 2015 Well, there have been some very talented Schnapps in recent college basketball history. hal9000 Posted January 8, 2015 Report Posted January 8, 2015 After looking at McVeigh's highlights, I like his versatility. Certainly needs some meat on them bones. Kind of looks like he could be a Sam Dekker type player for our team. Welcome to Cornhusker Nation Jack ol' boy!! Quote
Fullbacksympathy Posted January 8, 2015 Report Posted January 8, 2015 Great get. Great ball skills for his height, and looks like he can shoot it. Our recruiting class for next year (White, Morrow, Watson, Jacobson, McVeigh) is looking really, really solid. I'm not as adamant as some about needing a super big dude on the roster. I think we're forgetting that both Morrow and Jacobson are true power forwards (Jacobson can shoot it too). That leaves White, Watson, and McVeigh filling out our outside shooting needs. Looks to me like there really wasn't any room for Agau, and rightfully so. I wouldn't take him over Jacobson, and Morrow would eat his lunch and his minutes immediately. Again, great get. I think this kid will be a very solid contributor. I expect Hammond to make a huge jump his sophomore year. I've seen enough from his limited minutes to know he is most definitely a D1 prospect. He has a very high on-ball shot blocking IQ, and he's plenty athletic. He just needs some meat on the bones. We'll roll out a complete team next year. hhcmatt, Red Don and Silverbacked1 3 Quote
