With Smith out what about Kurkoski?

After watching him shoot in warm ups, scrimmage and play a few minutes here and there in games for several years I think he could give us ten minutes a game of acceptable play.

He bangs and he boards so why not see if he can play well enough to allow Hammond to redshirt which seems to be Miles preference?

I'd rather go with a smaller lineup than throw Kurkoski out there for 10 minutes a game.  Seems like a great teammate but should only see the floor in blow out games.

Kye should only play mop up minutes. He should never be a factor in Hammond's chances of redshirting.

Unless there has been exponential improvement, I simply do not see Kye on the floor when the game is on the line.  Perhaps there has been improvement, stranger things have happened, but I am not about to hold my breath...

Our post defense concerns me.  Moses will have to play more than we wanted him to - but remember he has a history of being injury-prone like Leslee, so who knows how he will hold up.

 

Hammond will have to play as well.  He may not be physically ready, but oh well.  Diaz gave us 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 25 minutes a game as a 215-pound freshman.  You have to assume Hammond is tougher than Diaz.

So far and it's early, I received a "your nuts" and a "Are you insane? Followed by another "you're nuts" response.

It is apparent that my post has triggered an intellectual avalanche of well thought out, highly articulated responses.

Actually, these types of responses don't bother me but they do say something about the respondent's lack of forethought or concern about totally bashing a hard working, loyal Husker basketball player. Oh well, back to work.
