Reminds me of our discussion on whether Petteway being "clutch" at the end of the shot clock is just random distribution of a small sample size or has something to do with his mental fortitude that he's able to rise to the occasion.

 

How might one explain such a large variance in opponent's free throw shooting percentage?  It's a free throw.  It's not defended.  Yet there's a 17% gulf between teams who shoot 60% when playing at Northwestern and 77% when shooting at Michigan State.

Just curious -- isn't there some standard for rims that would make them the same at every NCAA sanctioned game? If so, how could NW rims be different from any other place?

I suppose you could call Cameron Indoor a disgrace too, given it's lack of modern amenities.  Personally, I think it has a lot of charm from what I've seen on TV.  And the crowd seem pretty engaged when we played them last month.  I bet Noah would have some thoughts that are worth hearing.
