Simply put, Tai didn't deserve to play much. He didn't really do anything offensively, and defensively he was leaving his man too much. That's a terrible combination. Hopefully he makes a second-year leap like Benny.

Probably not.

BTW, this board is littered with threads wondering about the demise of a player....a lot of them about Benny Parker.

Duh what have you done for me lately. I personally wanted to wait and see with him one more year just like Vucetic (though I really felt Vuc wasn't a B1G player). I think Benny passed the test but, like this thread has alluded, I feel the writing is on the wall for the latter.

Tai will get way better (just like Parker did) over the off season.

What does that have to do with him starting now?

Miles obviously thinks Benny benefits the team more so than Tai does right now. Has Benny done enough to get the start?

Miles has said that he loves the spark Benny brings off the bench, so I don't see that changing. However, he will continue to play way more minutes than Webster, and he's outplaying Webster by a large margin right now anyway.

Also, I know it's fun to laugh at those of us who wanted Benny gone after last year, but keep in mind that Miles was one of us. He tried his best to push Benny out the door, but Parker stuck it out and made dramatic improvements to his game. Kudos to him. He's made himself a huge asset to the team.

The confidence Benny has on offense is certainly helping too. Never in my life did I think that Benny would be the guy who would go 1 on 5 to go 2-for-1 at the end of the 1st. Worked too. Then he hit that mid range jumper late in the game. He wouldn't have even looked at the hoop last year, or even earlier in the season.

I understand he's a great spark coming off the bench, but as we haven't seen him start, do we know we're "better" with him not starting?

Kid's been playing big minutes and making plays, that's for sure.  If Miles thinks he's best coming in as the sixth/seventh man, I'm ok with it.

I think Tai will continue to get the start....and Benny will get some major minutes.  It's just a head game with Tai right now...I keyed in on him during warmups and he was drilling three balls left and right.  He has the ability to shoot the ball but right now he has a major case of deer in the headlights look.  I'm hoping he can make a major jump under Miles like some of our other plays have done from year 1 to year 2.
