Need for a recruiting board.

I can understand that we don't want to clog up the main board with people posting about our newest offer or the a highlight video of such and such recruit.  That makes perfect sense.  I wouldn't want to reach about most of that stuff and I am glad there is a recruiting board.

 

But when Nebrasketball gets a huge recruit and I have to hear about it from my wife AFTER I check this board twice, that is ridiculous.  

 

On most college sports boards they have an accompanying recruiting board but when major news about a recruit happens it will usually be posted in the main board.  It is not like we are going to get 25 commitments for the 2014 seasons.  If we are lucky only 1 or 2 more.  AND it is not like there is much else to talk about.

 

I have used this board as my source for Nebrasketball news and always wished there were a front page like huskermax for basketball.

 

On a sarcastic note: I think we need a separate board for talk about NU facilities.  All the talk about the arena and practice facility has gotten in the way of the in depth analysis of the board. :-p

I believe Dimes said that the main board is viewable to guests and that the recruiting board is not viewable unless you sign up for an account. So they have requested that until a commit actually signs their letter of intent that everything be kept on the recruiting board. After that point that player can be talked about as much as you want on the main board.

I agree with Pimp.  I've only been able to check in on my phone here recently and for that I've just been checking headlines on the main board.  I'm several days late on the big news and I would have expected one gigantic self-congratulatory thread on the main board about this huge news.  And it is huge.  I mean, historical proportions.  Calls for a celebration.  Think I'll help myself to a margarita while I lounge lazily by the pool ...

The main board is my secondary board.

I should say that I almost never access the site from a real computer. It's always on the mobile version on my phone and is part of the reason that I suck at posting pics/tweets/media etc. On the mobile version I can toggle very easily between the recruiting board and the main board.

The gripe is simple: I don't want to have to go to two places to get my Nebrasketball news.  I would rather go to 1.

 

Maybe I just should have posted a thread titled: Big News Over at the Recruiting Board!

 

Believe it or not recruiting is a different kind of (fan)atic.  I don't care at all about who we offered or watching some high school kids videos.  But I do want to know when we got a recruit.  On Huskermax for instance when we get a big recruit it it posted on the main board.  That saves me and others from having to go to the recruiting board.

if you mixed both boards you would dig for hours trying to keep up on the latest interest, offers, and videos. I think the current recruiting board works great with the recruits name, position , and year in the thread title. Super easy, leave it alone.
