His frame suggests he's got some more growing to do, and he plays bigger than his height anyway..and if we get this kid itd give Shields, Pitch, Petteway, Webster, and Morrow...its been awhile since we had multiple effortless athlete type guys.

6'7 is plenty for a power forward if they're athletic enough.  especially in college.

two words : the chuckster.  aka the round mound of rebound.  he was 6'6

rodman was 6'7"

Was the round mound really 6'6" that might be giving him an inch or two.

He appears to have crazy-long arms!  On many of those dunks he hardly appeared to be off the floor at the end of the slam (when his arms were fully extended).

Me want!

I am not a big guy who gets excited about highlight films, BUT... holy cow that is one nice looking player.

Now we need to stop now, because when we get about 15-20 pages on a kid he doesn't come here. So I am saying let's stop now and just hope.

i think he was a legit 6'6... same height as jordan give or take an inch. he wasn't your typical PF though...

Chuck was a freak and even more so when you realize he was giving up 4 plus inches to his counterpart every night. He has admitted on numerous occasions to be only slightly over 6'4 regardless what his "official" height was listed at.

I've been told not to expect a commit on this visit....hope I'm wrong!  Jerry is part of 247 which they have a function where they get graded on predicting commits.  Hopefully Jerry is "in the know" on this one.  Would LOVE to get a commit out of Morrow...big time player from a big time school.

I've followed Ed for a while now. If he was 6' 9 or 6' 10 he would be a top 50 kid. He outplayed a top 5 kid this year. I think he commits, not this weekend though. A commitment before the summer aau schedule helps because kids talk. He is very good, very athletic, but has a frame that appears to be able to put on some weight. He is going to be a beast. You don't play that well at that level and not be a baller

I'd love to see a commit soon.  Not necessarily this weekend, but soon, because it builds up recruiting momentum and we have a number of open spots to offer for this and the next class.  The April and November signing periods should be busy times for us with a lot of open spots yet to fill and so getting that momentum going with a big commit would be a nice thing.

Consistent with Lanigan's "not this weekend" opinion is a comment Edward Morrow made in an interview previously posted on this board. In the interview, Edward said he still needed to take and pass the ACT (or SAT, can't remember which) before he could commit to any school. He emphasized that his grades are good enough but that he still needs test results to know for sure. Doubt he would have been able to take the exam and get the results in the meantime.

His test isn't even a concern for me. If you have followed him and his family, he has a good GPA and it's well published the value his family put in to an education. I think Nebraska's on the court success had been the difference in him going from being a legacy connection to a likely commit.

It would be ironic if he ended up here, after his parents moved away so he could get more exposure.  Though playing for one of the top programs in Chicago probably made him a better player than he would have become, if he had stayed in Lincoln and played for one of the LPS schools.

The point is, he probably still would have been good enough to earn a scholarship to Nebraska if he had stayed in Lincoln.  He would have been the best player in the state by far.

completely agree he would have been the best in the state but playing in that city league in Chicago is huge.  On top of that playing for the Mac irvin Fire, playing in the EYBL every summer is huge for competition.  He will be primed a year or two ahead of where he would be playing in Lincoln no question about it.

He would be the top player in the state but would he still be a top 150 player?

It took an amazing summer run for Akoy to crack the 150.  I would assume that would be the same for Morrow if he were still in Neb.  Its a lot easier to "grade" a kid playing in one of the best HS leagues in the country and then playing for one of the better AAU programs.
