hardaway's going to regret this. burke is doing the right thing. he'll be close to a lottery pick. pistons want him bad.

most places think he would be a 1st rounder next year.  With less people declaring than normal due to not being able to test the waters he may still be a first rounder this year.

even if he goes late in a sucky first round, it's burning quite a bit of cash compared to where he'd probably go with a bit more development. it's not like he's a poor kid who needs the cash now.

in any event, i'm cool with him leaving. anything weakening michigan is fine by me.

Michigan will take a big hit from these early departures, but a starting five next year of Albrecht, LeVert, Stauskas, Robinson III and McGary will be very formidable, especially if McGary can continue to be the player he's been in the tournament.

That's the thing though as next years draft class of freshmen and international players will be head and shoulders above this years crop and probably end up getting drafted in the same slot a year later than he could have. He's a mid to late first rounder for both years so why not get to the league a year earlier to make money and hone your craft.

Not sure if this the proper place for this....But Deshaun Thomas has declared for the NBA now as well.

Lets just get rid of all the top players in the Big 10 so we can sneak up on people :)

Winning by attrition still counts, so let them all go. Can any of these guys still come back if unhappy with their projected NBA prospects a la Ryan Anderson?

Nope. They switched it this year that there is no longer a way out once you declare even if you don't sign an agent.

I wonder if that's the way the NBA wanted it.

I would assume so, since all the provisional draft entries burn league resources trying to scout and evaluate all of them prior to the draft. And if there's anything the NCAA will defer to, its the pro leagues.

this is 100% the reason.  They dont want to spend time on guys only to have them back out, its counterproductive for them.

Did Zeller's brother/s leave early?

And do we feel that Cody is the best of the 3?

UNC Tyler Zeller was a SR last season & drafted by CLE in 1st rd... Ex-ND player Luke Zeller was undrafted but signed this yr w/ PHO. IU Soph. Cody Zeller will likely be drafted fairly high in 1st rd, I would have to figure, based on his all-around game offensively & defensively.
