Torvik has us 13th, so this is an improvement!

And everyone is in the top 74!  Not sure that's ever happened since we've been in the Big Ten.  Also, that's REALLY impressive considering it's an 18 team league now.

I thought Fred made a great point in that he needs to see how this team responds to adversity. What happens when it's the second half and the opponent is going on a big run. I think he remembers the second half of the Big 10 tournament semi-final game. As Mike Tyson said, everyone has a plan until they get hit in the nose.

Ugh. I forgot about this. I hate it. HATE. IT.

If I could like this more than once I would. There's just something about... even as the 14 seed playing on Wednesday... going into that tournament and thinking 'we could do this'. Don't give me any of the "well if you can't be in the top whatever" hogwash either.

On the other hand, kind of like promotion/relegation in European soccer leagues, this would add a ton of intrigue to the bottom of the standings at the end of each season.  IDK it might be kinda fun.

It was pretty good, Gary and Brice repped us really well. Two things Fred has said a couple times now. His hardest job will be getting everyone minutes and Berke is very talented and will play some 5 in smaller lineups. Seems pretty confident in this group.

How they deploy Berke is going to be very interesting imo. Very versatile piece that can be a spot up guy or a handoff hub similar to mast last year. He can do work in the post too.

Berke may be the player not named Brice Williams that I’m the most intrigued by. Since Fred got to Lincoln I’ve kinda joked that he’s been chasing “the ghost of Georges Niang.” Not the new, skinny, NBA shooting guard Georges Niang, but the point forward at Iowa State. Most certainly not a 1 to 1 comp, but Berke fits the mold pretty well.

Last spring when they were seriously recruiting Igor Milicic Jr, I thought he might be the "Ghost" you are describing. I'm excited to see that they were able to pivot to Berke and still have that guy.

That Georges niang comp is actually an apt comp. IF he puts it all together that is. The offense is such a good fit for him that he should, but he needs to be consistent

Yeah, but the flip side is something like last year's NC State run can never happen. To me this just lazy and lame. You want 37 F¥#€1πG teams in the conference Big 10? Then this is the consequence. Figure it out.
