Got to think Kyle would like our on-court pitch. The Josiah Allick (++) role. But more ideally for Fred and William, the Jameel McKay role. Very similar players. 6'9", long, bouncy, defensive-minded. Fred's last year at Iowa State McKay was the Big 12 DPOY and 3rd team all-conference.

The 3-4-5 on that team was Hogue-Niang-McKay. Hogue looks and plays an awful lot like Juwan Gary. Hoiberg has talked a lot about how he uses Mast in the same way he used Niang in the offense. The point guard on that team was Monte Morris (c'mon Chucky).

Trending towards having 3 Omaha metro products playing in the Big Ten next year and none of the 3 playing at Nebraska.

Kyle trending to UCLA.

Is that according to Trilly? That guy is brilliant. Waits til a situation is 50/50, makes a guess and relies on the fact that most people will remember the 50% he gets right and not think about the 50% he gets wrong. And gets 40k people to pay him $1/month for it.

Anyway, if that's true I think it'd be a decision Kyle regrets in the future. UCLA has two transfer bigs who played very well at the high major level last year. And have two true freshman bigs who each started 8 games last year. Three of those four players project as future draft picks. Three of them are pretty versatile but won't play the 3 next year as their 1-3 spots are full with five talented guards and wings. So they have nine players currently on the roster who have proven to be productive at the power conference level. Mick Cronin typically plays 7 or 8 guys in his rotation.

From what I know about this process, KW's representation is looking to get paid and you need multiple suitors for that.  Not sure where he lands up but either Nebraska or UCLA are currently being used to up the price.  He'll be at the spring game this weekend.

Yes, Trilly said UCLA allegedly.

Westwood for a couple years with the opportunity to come back and play in your home state after conference reconfiguration. And a lot of cash.

Word out of Wake Forest is that Kyle is going to the highest bidder and that UCLA has a big bag.

Hopeful we don’t get into a bidding war here.  We should offer what we believe is a reasonable price and if he takes a bag just to take a bag, then so be it.

Would love Kyle… but don’t want to put all our eggs (filled with dollars) in one basket.

We'll see who defects from UCLA after this, because their 4/5 rotation has a lot of bodies.

4:

Tyler Bilodeau (14 ppg as soph at Oregon State)

Eric Daily jr (9 ppg as fresh at Oklahoma State)

Berke Buyuktuncel (4 ppg as fresh at UCLA; top 50 player in HS )

Brandon Williams (3 ppg as fresh at UCLA; #70 player in HS)

5:

Aday Mara (3 ppg as fresh at UCLA; #15 player in HS)

Devin Williams (1 ppg as fresh at UCLA; #81 player in HS).

Kyle projects behind Mara likely, or above, but there's a lot of bodies in those rooms. There will be attrition. Has to be. UCLA fans think Mara will start apparently.

They also think Berke is the odd man out there, but we'll see.

odd man out was Berke. Id at least kick the tires and see what comes up. He has skill for the 4 spot.

He was pretty highly thought of internationally I think. Looks to be petty skilled all around but his shooting numbers were not great at UCLA. However his shot looks very nice and he shot higher %’s in Euro ball. I would definitely take a chance on him if he is open to it. 3 years left is nice too.
