K-State was 8-2 coming off of wins against Providence, Nova and LSU when we went to manhattan. Handled them on their own court. Purdue was #1 and Wisconsin was playing like a final four team when we played them. When we played indiana the first time they were projected as a tourney team. Minnesota and Penn State were arguably playing as well as anyone in the league when we played them and beat them both by nearly 20 points.

Got a story about this song.  I'm the youngest of 9 siblings.  In the summer of 1968, at the age of 7, I talked one of my sisters into buying this 45 for me.  Hey, back then 50 cents actually bought something.  Three months later, I developed some musical taste and talked my brother into buying the Hey Jude single.  Which one was better?

I know there are X's and O's guys here that know a hell of a lot more than this court jester does about basketball.  But it seems to me, that the defense the Huskers are running seems to get better as the season progresses. If it's true not many teams run up against it, does that not bode well for the Huskers?

Seems we learn from experience, we played four teams for the second time in this time frame.

I think we'll want to play teams who aren't able to shoot at an extremely good clip. That's my takeaway. Some due to our scheme in that we want others to be uncomfortable, taking shots they don't really want to take. And hopefully, also, not make. GBR

That was also the time that Fred made them work extra hard in practice.   I feel it was a combination of each of those cases coming together.
