Remember, we are putting together a new team.  I am all for using Non-Conference games to build team rapport and confidence.  Creighton and St. Mary’s are quality opponents and the Diamond Head event allows the opportunity to team build and win on a neutral site.

Tim Miles figured out that only playing a couple of cupcakes is a good way to finish 12-19

Right now we have six Q4 games in non-con. I doubt any conference games will be Q4, and last year we had seven Q4 games for the season. I think it’ll be alright.

Its good to schedule a lot of cupcake mid-majors especially for the NCAA NET rankings.

The NET rankings place a huge emphasis on the margin of victory.

You can get rewarded for blowing out bad mid majors as much as beating the 60th best team by 1.

Scoring margin got dropped from NET back in 2020.

Scoring margin may have been de-emphasized in 2020, but it certainly didn't go away.... style points equate to offensive efficiency!!

Every team has a new team. With the transfer portal, nearly every team has 5-7 new players or more. We aren't alone in that.

This is a great point.  We’re also never going to be a place where a kid even thinks he might sit and wait for an opportunity, so we’ll have a new team every year basically forever.

Yes, a veritable lump of coal, although Oakland will probably be seeded #1.  I took the liberty of starting a new thread to put us in a December mood during the 100degree weather predicted for the weekend.

You are probably right since their sainted coach got his accolades last year and their deadly three-point shooter has graduated (and got soundly trounced by our own deadly three-point shooter). Unfortunately, they did go further in the NCAA tourney than our guys, however. I have no idea what players they have coming back, and I still tend to think they are located in California.

Florida Gulf Coast followed up their Sweet 16 run by coming to Lincoln the next season to lose by 22 in the grand opening of Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Anything less than 9-2 with that schedule will make it nearly impossible to qualify for the NCAA Tournament as an at large.

Absolutely horrible home schedule.  It's going to be extremely difficult to get fans to want to come out and watch any of these games.  Expect a terrible home atmosphere.  Please talk quietly with the people you sit by otherwise they will hear you on the other side of the arena.
