The polls are kind of idiotic, they don't represent how teams are seeded, at all. I'd rather be concerned about NU's potential seeding than some polls, although I'm not really complaining about being "on the radar" either. I honestly believe getting housed too many times hurt NU early on, if the Huskers had been competitive in big games in Dec. I think we'd have already been ranked for most of the 2024 calendar year. Oh well, let's just keep winnin'!! GBR

It was meant to slam Creighton and their fans cause they don't have a football team.

Boy those Creighton Fans sure get “Testy” over there on the OWH site. What a humorless lot. In a Perfect World we’d meet them in the Final Four & Butter their Biscuit once & for ALL…!

i could be wrong but didn't a top 25 team get left out of the tourney once or twice?

It happens on a somewhat regular basis, but yeah, I guess I'm not as concerned about that this year.

Maybe that's more of a "next year" issue at this point in the season.

Before you get TOO excited about the Basketball Team Folks it’s important to remember the 10/11 Sports Report led off last night with the Football Player’s Dunk Contest.

Also remember we get to bring basketball recruits to a football stadium as opposed to a Big East soccer game during the fall.

Not the AP… but…

I wholeheartedly agree with others on here that these rankings are more or less meaningless.  However, I will stand by that they are a great recruiting tool to sell kids that this thing is really headed in the right direction, especially for a program with such little success in it's past.

Additionally, turning to the goal of making the tournament.  Having national media with a large social media following mention and tweet about Nebraska being a top 25 (or 26) team is inevitably reaching committee members to remind them or reinforce that this is a damn good basketball team that certainly appears to be peaking right before the tournament.

Bottom line is that narrative does matter.

Nebraska had 1 vote in the Coaches Poll, while I noticed that Mich. St. had 2 votes in the AP Poll. Hmmm.

Some bracketology guy on Bracket Matrix called "Black" has the Huskers an 11 Seed and Michigan State a 6 seed.  How any sane person could believe that to be accurate is beyond me.  Fine you want Michigan State in the Tournament based upon their SOS... but a 6 seed at 17-12 with no amazing wins is homerism at it's finest.

CBS wants their buddy, Tom Izzo, in the tournament.

Black ranks 117 in the accuracy standings over the past 5 years.

As stated, consider the source... it's one reason I try to not get bent outta shape over Lunardi's since he is relatively inaccurate overall.

Maybe, I should do a bracket and compare it to his.   In my bracket, I think Nebraska will be a #2 seed in Omaha.
