To enjoy the sweet, sweet taste of a Creighton loss.

I used to turn it on if I saw they were down by 12, but they turned around and won that game and I was sick for a week.  Lesson learned, I don't watch unless they are down 20.

Just the sight of that Karen haircut logo of theirs and that beady-eyed neanderthal coach makes me nauseous, doesn't matter if they're winning or losing.  You have a stronger constitution than I do good sir.

HB, I will vouch for your predictive accuracy that NU would suck entering each of previous three embarrassing Hoiberg-led years. Incredibly, this year will likely be Hoiberg's worst, a noteworthy accomplishment should it come to pass. I don't see NU winning more that two conference games. It is more likely they win none.

Currently Hoiberg is the worst coach in modern, power-conference history. The statistics do not lie. If I hadn't been an NU follower my whole life I'd not have believed it was possible to be this bad consistently for this long. Where does Fred find the stamina to face the media every week for years? Every press conference we hear the same claptrap. Does he actually believe it or is he refusing to resign because the money is too good?

The Hoiberg-related contributions to NU baskeball now stand at thirteen years of losing basketball. His maternal grandfather Jerry Bush "led" Nebraska for nine years and never had a winning record. He percentages were .380 and .333 for overall and conference records respectively. Now Fred comes in and takes NU to even worse depths: .280 and .153! This is a man who makes $3.25 m. each year to produce laughable, embarrassing teams. If Alberts doesn't fire this man I don't know why anyone would waste money on tickets, concessions, merchandise or time and fuel costs. In protest I haven't spent one dime on NU basketball during Hoiberg's career, and I will continue the boycott until Alberts hires a coach who can give the fans a modicum of hope. NU men's athletics (big three sports) are a national joke. Athletic expenses are in the top-20 in all of Div. I sports yet they field losing teams (nearly) every year. Last night the announcers humorously asked the national audience to guess the last time NU won a tournament game, at which point he laughingly delivered the punch-line: NEVER! Something we who frequent this grim ghetto of cyberspace know, but is now a factoid many hundreds of thousands more know. Nearly all fans know how shitty the football program is, but at least the basketball team could fail in relative obscurity....

Does anyone not dropped on their head as a child think this team has any potential for success this season? What is success at NU? Thirteenth place in the conference? HB and I know the answer. I'm guessing Norm knows the answer too. Stop lying to yourselves. Even though NU under Hoiberg is the worst, it could get even more grim. They could fail to win a conference game, and then do it again next year. (Look at who they having coming back!) Say what you want about Abdelmassih but at least he brought talented players to the program. Granted Hoiberg did nothing with these recruits, but the type of players Hoiberg is involved with now are back to Collier and Sadler levels. Case in point: only at NU could a first-team Junior College All-American come in an be as worthless as Keita. Truly astonishing!

Alberts fired an incompetent three games into the football season. What is he waiting for?

I agree with all of this except the Matt A part.  I guess there was a lack of development to a degree, but much like the fb team, high rated recruits dont equal success.  You have to have the right high rated players to compliment a roster that fits what you are trying to do.  Turning over that roster to the degree NE has is a formula for failure. This roster once again is pieced together with players that dont fit.  I like Sam but he's not a true pg.  How hard is it to find a true pg for this team?  How hard is it to find physical 4s or 5s that challenge shots in the paint? If this team relies on Tominaga to be its leading scorer for multiple games, thats not a good formula.  I like what I see with Dawson and Lawrence, but will they be around to see this out?

There is no reason NE with its conference, resources, fan support, should be this bad on a consistant basis.  Is not finishing in the bottom 4 almost every year but 2 over the past 10 plus years that hard to overcome?  I stopped my tickets and wasting time.  Its got to a point where I dont know if I can watch anymore.

For all those people bagging on Wilhelm Breidenbach, I'd just like to remind you that Adrian Martinez has 6 TD passes to only 1 INT this year. And he's the starting QB for a top 20 FB team. Sometimes the way the tools perform is the result of the carpenter using them.

I'd also like to remind y'all that, in terms of game experience, he's essentially a first-semester freshman.

I don't know about top 50 recruits. But I'd say he was certainly worthy of Rivals 150 inclusion.

Go easy on my man.

He's one of the slowest players I've ever seen very heavy footed. I'm not sure what kind of coaching can fix that the closest thing I guess I could compare is Cole Aldrich who was highly recruited he looked kind of similar Self & Co did an amazing job with him.

I hear you, but I saw a lot of things in the first half that go a long way towards winning games. They played defense, rebounded and were aggressive. Obviously, they have to make more shots. They did basically none of those things in the second half. If they do more of what they did in the first half for 30+ minutes a game, something they're capable of doing, I believe, they'll win some games, especially at PBA. Getting DW back will help a ton. Kieta is fighting the JUCO transition. They won't face many defenses that frenzied, either.

You think they did enough in the 1st half or that SJ had a bad half?  Not many teams go 0-10 on 3 in a half except maybe NE.

This post and others in this thread really pissed me off. Who knows how the rest of the season will go but is it ok for us fools who had some faith in this season continue to have hope? He might still not make it but he made changes and has a team that is easy to cheer for.

They have looked like a solid team the past few games sorry

We learned that we have to give an effort for the whole game.

Last year's team didn't have that 'grit'. Glad this season the whole team is bonded together & doing whatever it takes to get the job done.

To piggyback on this maybe not having him available in the beginning took away a crutch and forced the team to learn how to play with out him. Also gave his minuets to players that needed them more for development purposes. Walker has got back to top form damn quick so I don't think him not playing was a detriment to his game. I think long term him being gone may have been a blessing in disguise.

If you watched the games before Walker came back like I did, I'm afraid to say they did NOT learn how to play without him. Really hope they don't have to for the rest of the year because they are becoming kind of fun watching them with him.

Did it translate on court? No. Did they learn? I guarantee they did. Did they have the horses to compete without Walker even if they did learn? Nope.

I agree, think they definitely learned and today was a good example. He missed time with fouls and they did not fall apart and even kept the lead. Let’s hope he stays out of foul trouble going forward though

I wonder why we have not heard from Penitent since this game? Some pretty interesting predictions in here by a few folks.

One thing I know is that people who feel the need to point out when they get something right, are not right as often as they want you to believe.

Nice regular season guys. I’ve enjoyed this season more than any since the tourney team. GBR always

He hasn't logged in since December 3.  Possibly something bad happened to him.

You’re probably right. It would be bad for him that we beat Creighton on December 4th.
