  1. Didn't Kent say sit down Dick during a game to Petino?
  2. Again show me where I said he sucked. I said he hit his ceiling. I wanted him to succeed but it didnt work. The fact that so many want to defend this guy just shows how bad this program has been for so long and we hang on to mild success. And yes Crayton sucks. Red state and beat a team that everyone locally thought was a final 4 team.
  3. Xavier was gone cause Kenya was gone. Roby most likely would of been gone due to NBA. The last wasnt a player that was going to elevate the program above the previous year IMO. As far as SJSU, lets wait to see where that goes. Again, its SJSU. If he was such a good coach why is he there?
  4. I agree he did what was not done before, but again do you just settle and have a defeatist attitude? There is no reason this univ shouldnt demand more from one of its revenue generating sports. Too much money and support to keep a guy cause he's funny and qwirky and a salesman. Ultimately it needs to come down to wins and post season wins. My opinion, feel free to disagree, but I expect more results overall after several years.
  5. Good god! Not even worth replying. You're gonna die on that hill. Your boy is in FS1 now. Im sure you're watching....
  6. Lots of factors go into that then a w/l record. Miles next year, if he got one, was trending to be .500 or below. I'm sorry you think Miles is the greatest coach ever and 7 years wasnt enough time to prove you can do more then finish in the bottom 4 consistantly. I have higher expectations and believe a good coach and good hire should be better then .500 after 7 seasons. We'll just agree to disagree.
  7. Ok funny guy. It's ok to accept these coaches outside of Nee for many years were overall failures. And that could be debated since he never got over the hump. Not one of them have had any success in the tourny and none of them elevated the program on a consistant basis, you could argue Nee. Dany Nee is to Nebrasketball as Bo Pelini is to FB at their current times. Seriously this is one of the worst bball teams in history especially the support and money. There has been joy at times but way more heartbreak and disappointment on a consistant basis.
  8. Im not disagreeing that he was screwed to a point. He did have 7 years, finished in the bottom most of those, and failed to elevate or maintain after his best year. He was the right fit at the right time. Just didnt get it done.
  9. Thats a Lee B thing. I think thats more overblown then in the past. Just my opinion though.
  10. I expected more out of them especially how highly they were talked about and rated. I think they were solid players, just not difference makers
  11. He had 3 years left and comimg off a good year. I dont know, alot of assistants and players that were promising left under Tim. Makes me wonder if there were other issues. That was also Bill's 1st year. I will say having 3 AD's in 7 years isnt ideal for anyone, but i do think there were other issues.
  12. I agree that Fred screwed himself with Matt A and being stubborn thinking that what worked in the big12 works in the big 10 today. Its taken four years to do what he should have in year 1. I do think Fred is a better coach and showed that thru his success at Iowa St. If Fred would of realized the conf, which is confusing considering all the games he wached at Mich st, and didnt bring in random dudes hoping it would magically work, we wouldnt be having this convo in year 4. If that makes Miles a better coach, then I guess, but the xfers were different under Miles with the rules, then now. Outside of Walker and Roby, did anyone really stay for 3-4 years under either coach that you said that's coaching thats development?...to quote one Billy C. I would chalk it up to both bad overall hires or Tim hit his ceiling here and they will need to find the right guy. I mean obviously everyone is frustrated with this program and its history. God, it cant be that hard to find the guy to elevate this program. They have just missed on hiring for a multitude of reasons.
  13. So you think his AD's were the reason for turnover in assistants?
  14. So Tim failed cause he couldnt bring in a navy seal guy. Not due to bad recruiting, not due to bad assistant hires, not due to keeping players? I mean you get handed a brand new facility and $ that has never been spent before and your only success in 4 early years was lightning in a bottle. Is the only reason everyone loves Tim is his charm or that he wasnt as bad as Fred. It blows my mind that everyone lives in revisionist history
  15. Im not arguing, i just think hindsight its always easy to look back and think what if. When things are really bad, its not so bad to be just bad. Do you think the "good" Tim did was greater then the bad? Does the really good outweigh the bad? The year they made the tourney they caught lightning in a bottle, Tim's words not mine, and look what happened their last 2 games? They gave up I think a 18-20 pt lead in the big10 tournament. If there was stability in the assistants and roster was more stable then I could buy in more
  16. There is no agenda. I think people are blinded due to the current status. One could argue Doc left the roster much better off for the transition. Ubel, Talley,Shields, Gallegos were key for Tim in year 1
  17. I would also add that any coach would have those #'s at PBA considering its what happens whenever a new arena is built. Its not like his 1st year he was lighting the world on fire. He was a good promoter for what the program needed at the time
  18. Im not attacking you. Fact is the guy finished bottom 4 5 out of 7 years. If he was such a great coach why did no one hire him after he was fired and why is he coaching in the Mountain West? I get he was likeable and quirky, but after 7 years this univ deserved better.
  19. My understanding was Bill wanted to go outside and go after Mack Brown. TO didnt allow it and convinced Frank to be the guy hence the downfall
  20. So you just settle and dont want more? Thats an Iowa fb mentality. Keeping someone who made 1 tourney luckily and more often finished in the bottom 4 is not worth keeping IMO. With the $, fan support, resources, etc., this program should strive to be better and they finally did with Fred. Unfortunately he was behind the current game and waited till year 4 to play a style that works while you build consistancy.
  21. You said you were opposed to firing him because of a defestist attitude of who are we gonna get that is better. The hire of Fred at the time was more promising then then Barry or Doc as head coaches.
  22. Agreed on Fred. I liked Tim and wanted him to succeed, but recruiting slipped, lots of turnover on staff, and hit his ceiling. I wasnt excited for team he would have had if he came back. It may have just been 1 more year with him anyways.
