Is there anyone who looks that the pic above and thinks it's just the camera angle that makes Eduardo appear 3 inches taller than Yvan? There is the hair on Andre's head that makes him look even taller , but I agree. Yvan is 6'8" at best and so is Lat and Banton. Quote
basketballjones Posted December 18, 2020 Report Posted December 18, 2020 .... has a long ways to go to be serviceable, to put it nicely. We really need Walker back and ready to go when he’s eligible. Quote
Fullbacksympathy Posted December 18, 2020 Author Report Posted December 18, 2020 I don’t think Andre needs help in the defensive post, but he has a ton of work to do on the perimeter defensively. He’s definitely better than Yvan on the offensive end. His upside looks great though. Nebrasketballer 1 Quote

He gives us length on the defensive end, and if he's able to alter some shots and grab some rebounds, why not play him. On the offensive end, if he's able to catch the ball around the rim and finish or be an alley oop threat off of the screen and roll, that's something we haven't had in our offensive arsenal yet this year. As much as I like Yvan and want him to succeed, teams essentially don't pay any attention to him on the rolls off of high ball screens. If you aren't a threat to pick and spot up, you have to be a threat at the rim. Doesn't hurt to see if Andre can provide that threat. jayschool, hskr4life, Norm Peterson and 1 other 4 Quote

One other thing-- if he can be a consistent passer out of the post, with the addition of Lakes, that could be huge for us. Norm Peterson and mwm89 1 1 Quote

Norm Peterson Posted December 22, 2020 Report Posted December 22, 2020 Next year, I would love to roll out a lineup that looks like this: PG Dalano Banton with a new-and-improved jump shot SG Bryce McGowens doing what 5-stars do SF Teddy Allen, slimmed and more explosive and a little more active on D -- OR -- SG Trey McGowens with a slightly upgraded jumper PF Lat Mayen, a little bulked up and more confident from behind the arc -- OR -- PF Trevor Lakes with better weight and still that killer jump shot C Eduardo Andre with a little more bulk and a lot more development and still some quality hands and Kay-Shay Tominaga lighting it up from off the bench. That's a roster that could win some games. It's also a roster that could score without Teddy Allen if he doesn't play defense. Quote

hskr4life Posted December 23, 2020 Report Posted December 23, 2020 I didn't watch the presser... did any media member ask about this. This was.... so strange... to say the least. Quote
hugh42 Posted December 23, 2020 Report Posted December 23, 2020 (edited) Not that I heard, but I didn't listen to the radio broadcast so I don't know if it was asked there. Edited December 23, 2020 by hugh42 Quote

Faux Mike Peltz Posted December 23, 2020 Report Posted December 23, 2020 Very strange for HC FH to say this only to put him in basically with a minute left. Pure speculation, but perhaps he did something after that quote to get himself in Fred’s doghouse? Or maybe they saw the two Wiscy big men and thought - “he’s not ready” and were afraid it’d mess with his confidence... Quote

REDitus Posted December 23, 2020 Report Posted December 23, 2020 I thought Yvan had a good defensive game. Maybe Andre isn't ready for playing posts that play outside as well as inside. I have no idea, I am guessing that's the difference. Quote
hhcmatt Posted December 23, 2020 Report Posted December 23, 2020 Seemed like a game plan and Wisconsin roster sort of issue though it was surprising he didn't get some 'let's see what happens' minutes. Against Michigan and their traditional centers I'd think that 5-10 minutes seems plausible Faux Mike Peltz and thrasher31 2 Quote

He definitely had a good game. Was wondering for a bit if we’d see both of them in there at the same time. Lat wasn’t shooting well and got backed down quite easily, and we did play the two of them vs Doane for a bit... Silverbacked1 1 Quote
